Don't know if any of you remember me from late last year.

We had 2 9-cell on day 3 and transferred them both. I actually had 2 sacs at my first u/s but only 1 developed. Of the other 4 that fertilized, none made it to transfer. Since our guy is still only 4 weeks, we're not sure if we want to try again for a second baby. I always thought I wanted 1 but now that he's here, I could almost see having another. If we do decide to try again, it will probably mean going overseas because of cost but only time will tell.

That's a really tough one. I think Id ask the doc what the chances are for each embryo and what the chances are for twins. There are more risks carrying twins, but then most women can carry twins without problems. Your doc should know your specifics enough to help you make a good decision.

I hope they keep growing perfectly! Ill be praying for a healthy transfer for you this weekend!

Honestly, how long did you stay off your feet? I know you have another little one at home so it makes it hard to just lie in bed. I too have other children, they youngest is 4 and very active. Any advise?

Also, my RE will not be the one doing the xfer tomorrow, it is the doc who is on call for that day. He/she will not know me personally which makes me a little nervous....

I had a relatively early transfer, I think around 8:00?? After the transfer, I was supposed to lie there for about 20 minutes, then go to the bathroom. Then we went back to the hotel. I spent the day in bed playing on the computer. We had left older DD with grandparents, so I didn't have to deal with her. DH brought in lunch. They had told me I could go out to dinner as long as I didn't overdo things, so we went out to Joe's Crab Shack. Now when I think of Joe's, I think of our baby :) Anyhow, the next day, around 24 hours after transfer, we met up with a friend at a mall, and then with another friend for lunch, then drove home. So it was probably 10 hours bed rest, and 24 hours of "taking it easy." I went back to work 3 days after transfer.

I would probably suggest having someone else look after the kids for the day.

I had my own doc do the transfer, but I don't know if that's usual, or just the luck of the draw. I don't think it makes a big difference, as far as the actual transfer. However, if there are any concerns about how many to transfer once you've discussed w/ the doctor, I guess I'd make sure your own doctor is on board with this doctor's recommendation.

I stayed in the office about 20 minutes then did bedrest for 24 hours (other than trips to the loo). DH was not about to let me do anything!

We ended up with 2 perfect blastocysts and 2 that were almost there. Doc reccomended xfering 1 embie, since putting back 2 would increase the risk for multiples with high grade embies. We did the one and we will find out in a couple days if the rest made it to freeze..

The embryologist also came in and suggested putting back just one. She said we do this everyday and to listen to them, I hope they are right.
