I'm so glad it went well :)

If we were doing a fresh cycle, I'm pretty sure we'd do single embryo transfer, but I suspect if we have two good embies from the frozen oocytes we'll put both back.

Christine:

Isn't it a whirlwind of a day??? Take time to let it settle in. You will be surprised how fast the process actually goes once you get started so I know it sounds difficult to say, enjoy this time.

Your SG DR will probably want you on lovenox for about 2 days before the transfer throughout the pregnancy. Lovenox and I have a love/hate relationship, I love what it does for me but I hate the process. They have me on 80 ccs per day, 1 shot in the gut at the am & pm! Oh well.

Best wishes,
Gabrielle

After too many failed natural cycles to mention, discover that previously clear tubes have become blocked after surgery to remove fibroids (however, no more fibroids). Decent FSH for 40 year old

Hi Christine:

Although your nurse is not my primary, she is the fill in for mine and so I've worked with her before with no issues.

As for embies, SG did push the single embie thing with us as well. I transferred two blasts and I'm glad I did because only one took. I'd rather have a BFP and so I'll take the gamble. I would recommend waiting to see what your embies look like and how developed they are before making a choice, that is what our doctor recommended.

As for the lovenox, the biggest challenge is that it burns for about 5 min after the shot and occasionally leaves big bruises. I find it hard to know what do with all the sharps (DH is a health care provider so he takes them to work for disposal but they quickly stack up and the sharps container from Freedom pharmacy isn't sufficient when combined with all the other meds). When your nurse orders your meds, I'd ask them if they can order a bigger sharps container than usual. Also, have the lovenox filled at your local pharmacy rather than Freedom in case you run out on a weekend. It is much easier to get a refill then a box in the mail!

Thank you for all the warm thoughts.
Best wishes,
Gabrielle

Good call on the sharps container.
