Sperm Donor

Hello all,

I see many posts about egg donation, but I am in the process of looking for a sperm donor. Now, I have found a local sperm bank, but they have few donors and none that I am interested in. Have any of you had good or bad results from certain sperm banks?

The one close to me is the Fertility Clinic at OHSU in Portland, OR, but I am hoping to hear about others as I wish for a larger range of men to choose from.

I also did DE, but I know I've seen people talk about some of the banks. You could probably search on "sperm," and find some threads :) Will you be working with an RE or doing home insemination?

In any case, tons of baby dust too you!!

Thanks for the well-wishes everyone!

And thanks for the link to the list of Sperm banks! Am already impressed with a couple of them, including the one in Seattle.

While I would prefer to do an IVI at home, the logistics won't work. I would be doing it myself... and yeah, not so easy that:). So, I will be working through my doctor who does want to send me to an RE. I will be doing everything to prepare myself and trying in November probably. September is out because... well, too quick! I should be O'ing sometime next week. LOL October is out because I just don't want a baby born around my b-day. I know what its like to be born a Cancer baby and don't want that for my little one.

I am going to a fertility class held by a local fertility clinic on Thursday. I figure any information I get is good:)

Anyway... so far so good! Thanks for making me feel welcome:)

Thanks for the link! Has some very good information. While I would prefer to do it at home, I want the security of knowing the sperm has been checked for HIV and other STDs.

Its amazing all the stuff I suddenly have to internalize. I'm excited, if a bit overwhelmed:)
