Happy Valentine's Day Ladies!
Figured I would share the donor side a bit and ask a couple questions you may know the answers to. I started my stim meds wednesday evening, very excited now. I am taking a combined injection of Gonal-F and Menopur. I have always had a needle phobia but having control of the needle I find is much easier for me. I will say I was oddly thinking it would enter my skin like a hot knife thru butter, I was shocked how much pressure it took to pierce my skin...eek...LOL.
I will be getting blood drawn saturday morning to make sure all the meds are at the levels my body needs then next week start regular ultrasounds to monitor my progress. I will have a couple other injections next week but have not paid attention to the names so can't remember what they are. I am very excited and hoping I get a good retrieval next weekend. All I know about this other couple is that they have been trying to have a baby for a few years but this is the first time they have tried donor eggs, I am really hoping this works for them.

I have heard cramping or fullness are side effects... have any of you used these meds? If so are there any side effects you remember? We are have a family vacation next week with my appts interspersed and I am hoping I will not feel too crampy or crappy to have fun while away from home. (I drive 4hrs to MA for these appts, so we decided next week to just stay there since I have so many check ups taking place. We are hoping to see the Boston Aquarium, Springfield Science Museum and also some family... it will be our first vacation-type trip in a long time!)

HI!
I've heard that drinking Gatorade helps with the fullness and crampy and can really help if you over-stimulate, which can happen.

Also, icing before the shots helps and moving them around.

Good luck - and thank you!
