TIMINING OFF?

Well I went on Friday morning to the clinic for bloodwork. They called that afternoon and said they would do my DI on Sunday but to come in today (Sat) for some blood work. When we were there the nurse said that Friday's bloodwork showed the start of a surge. I am afraid I already O'd and by Sunday at 9:30am it will be too late. What are your thoughts?

McBaby do you chart your temps? CM? My only advice to you would be to just relax and let nature takes it course as far as ovulation:) I am the same way when it comes to my IUI's! Every month, when it's all said and done, I obsess about the timing:( Did I do it too soon too late?? You are lucky with respect to your RE doing bloodwork as I have to fly by the seat of my pants! My DR has me use OPK's only and call when I get a surge. So far, no surge yet but I expect it either tomorrow or MOnday. This will be my 3rd IUI and I have vowed I will not stress about it anymore!! If it's meant to be, it's meant to be:) I wish you all the luck and be sure to keep us updated! By the way, if you happen to ovulate the day of your IUI, you couldn't have better timing!! My last IUI I ovulated on the way there. Granted, it didn't take, but I think it was a donor issue. (I HOPE!) I have since switched donors, so we'll see what happens!! I'm keeping everything crossed for you!!!!

I've never heard of bloodwork being done to predict ovulation but only to confirm ovulation.

Do you know what hormone they were looking for?

Are you temping? doing clomid? opk's?

You usually surge then 24-48 hrs after you O. So they may just be seeing your level starting to rise, but not surger. I would guess they are checking your LH levels just like a stick would. The difference is quantitative vs qualitative analysis.

I used a trigger shot for the 1st time this round because I was having the worst time with the sticks. By far much easier on my mind!

Good luck and baby dust!

Well had my insemination today.....I guess the timing was okay. I have alot of EWCM today. The strangest thing happened though. While I was there with my legs in the stirups and the DR doing the procedure she asks me if I have regular paps and done and have they always came back normal. The nurse quickly changed the subject. I was so thrown off by this that I didn't say anything but YES. Now that I am home I am wondering if she saw something. DH says if there was something wrong she would have sent me to get checked but I have no idea. So anyways, here goes the 2WW.

that is odd...my doc wouldn't even start treatment without doing a pap, blood work and std panels. Maybe your doc just figured she'd kill 2 birds with one stone if you didn't???? My guess is if she was overly concerned about something he "saw" he wouldn't go forward with the iui like your hubby said. If she did see something, she could certainly be held liable. She was just probably trying to make conversation and that was all her brain could come up with in that position hehe.

I wouldn't worry anything about it...you have enough to stress about for the next 2 weeks hehe
