I am new so please forgive any faux pas I make. I joined because a friend who has been TTC and has had miscarriages and difficulties told me about it.
After years of trying and one miscarriage that was so devastating, we decided to use an egg donor. Even though we went through a few donors, it has been a good process. We first saw our RE on April 30 and had the transfer on Aug 22. Our first donor didn't have "peppy" eggs and we decided not to wait while she went off the pill to have another exam. We listened to our gut and I am glad because she ended up deciding not to stay with our donor broker and dropped out. Our second person of interest had a schedule conflict. Our third failed the psych test. Then, we found our fourth. She's been a dream and I think it was just meant to be with her.
This wasn't our first choice of how to have a baby, but now it feels destined.
Even though we switched donors, it only took a month or so to decide and get going. I went on Lupron early -- in May -- because of my severe pain with endo. Once our cycles were in synch in July, it went fast. The meds have been easy to tolerate.
Just wanted to tell you about what yesterday was like. Thought it might help anyway who is going to go through this.
It was really easy... almost crazy easy. We got there around 7:15 and by:30 were in a gown (me) and scrubs (him) with little hats and booties. My hubby looked so cute. The doc came and said "It's a good day to get pregnant." Dr McDreamy always says "It's a good day to save lives." So it was funny.
They put me in stirrups and almost inverted me so my bottom was high and my upper body was laying way back. Jim, my hubby,
