2nd months off BCP and my cycle is crazy

I've been on BCP for years, and since I started taking them my cycle has been 28 days, starting on a Tuesday. Last month was my first month off BCP and my period came after 30 days, on a Thursday, and it was the normal 5 day flow as it has been for years. This month it was 30 days from July's flow. Started on Saturday, and it was really heavy for Saturday and Sunday, then it quit. I've never had a 2-day period, but then again, I've never been off BCP until now. So I don't know what's "normal" and what's not. It's looking like I might be on a 30 day cycle now? Hubby and I were hoping to TTC in September, but I'm not sure how to try and figure my fertile time now. Any thoughts?

It can take a while for bcp to work out of your system so your body can go "au naturale", so you may expect to still see some craziness...or, as you said, maybe 30 days is what your cycles are usually going to be.

Thanks Stephanie!

I have been filling out my fertility chart since last month, charting the CM. I haven't bought a Basal Thermometer yet. But with charting my CM it appears that everything is going like it should, with the CM getting more egg-white like, then stopping them AF appearing. I'm hoping I have a 30 day cycle this month, so that will assure me that I'm pretty much going to be a 30-day cycle kinda gal :D I'm going to get some ovulation tests just to try this month and see what it tells me.

Thanks so much for the responses everyone, I really appreciate them :)

I've found that the best way to check internally for cm is to squat, because that lowers your cervix to where you can feel it (since prior to O it'll be really high) and insert two fingers so you can get cm between them, then check for stretchiness and consistency once your fingers are visible again ;-)
