BBT vs. OPK

It seems I am constantly thrown off by my cycle!

It appeared that I ovulated on CD 18 - temps rose, CM seemed right, and I had what seemed to be a positive (or as close to as possible) OPK on CD 16 (although digital was negative).

I kept up the OPKs just for my own curiosity since I had extras and since I did get some patches of EWCM, only to get an extremely positive OPK (regular and digital) out of the blue on CD 23 and today on CD 24. FF, naturally, took away the crosshairs, though I am still above where the coverline was.

I guess I am just wondering if LH can surge after ovulation? I am treating this as if it's the real thing and keeping up with our "activity" though I am really confused. It did seem like I ovulated based on temps, but this is clearly a strange sign!

My chart is below. Any input would be appreciated!

Hi - thanks for your reply!

The open circle is due to the fact that I woke up about 45 minutes early that day (to use the bathroom). I also had a poor night's sleep, though I don't know if that makes a real difference. I do use a BBT and temp at the same time unless I am forced up early.

To add to the confusion, for the past 3 days or so, I've had tender breasts - which I've read is due to post-o progesterone? This would be before the date of the second possible O.

My temp did go up today to 97.70, and now I am torn as to whether that's a standard temp shift or possibly a triphasic shift if I o'd early? Now it looks like O was either CD 18 or 25. Any thoughts?

At least I covered my bases, but now I'm wondering when the heck to test!

Thanks! I appreciate your help!

Let me confuse things even more...woke up to EWCM!!! Edited to add that the OPK is super, super negative. I hope it is just a fluke thing. My temp went up even more this morning, so it does look like I have ovulated.

Hi again,

Nope - not "leftovers" but it did dry up in the morning. My body is definitely a trickster, that's for sure! We are pretty much "done" for this cycle, so I'm just going to ignore it. My breasts ARE unusually swollen and sore, though...yet another thing to make me question the whole O date!

Who knows. :) I'll let you know if I get good news either this week or next! Otherwise, I'm sure I'll be back with more crazy questions. Boy do I envy the "regular" women out there!

Thanks for all your input!
