Charted before baby, need help starting

DS is now 14 months old. I charted for years before he was conceived. As a result, I was able to identify and correct a luteal phase defect and conceive him right away when we were finally ready to have him. I thought I would have gotten back to charting by now...AF has been coming for months now.
My biggest challenge is getting the temps. I'm still up several times a night with DS - just for a minute or two, but I know it is enough to screw with my temps. I keep thinking I should wait until I can be sure I am getting regular sleep, but that might be never!
Should I just take my temp in the middle of the night before I get up for DS the first time, as long as I've had 3 hours of consecutive sleep, and adjust for the time difference on my chart?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'd really like to know if I'm O'ing regularly. We plan on having the "2nd child" discussion at some point and it would be nice to know where I stand fertility-wise.
