Hi there. I'm new to this board. :smileyhappy: My husband and I have two girls, 8 and our youngest turned 5 today. In October we'd like to try for our last and final child... and we're hoping for a boy. :smileywink: I've done a bit of research and found that an alkaline diet is very important when trying to conceive a boy. Does anyone have any experience with this, or know how far in advance we need to adjust our diets? Do we need to start this diet 1, 2 or maybe even three months in advance? Any good diet sites? Thank you! :smileyhappy:

Leigh, I just happened to see this, getting your body in an alkaline state will depend on how far "out of alkaline" it is already. Vegiemama gave you some great links, if you want to check your body's alkaline state you can purchase alkaline paper at your local health food or vitamin place. You want to be as close to 7.0 as possible. I have 2 girls with my DH and he used to always tease me that my "nether regions were boy opposed" LOL! I knew from charting that BDing was on the far end of O each time which made sense we had girls, but I also found our in the last few months that I have had a medical issue and my body has been in a severe acidosis state which is when your body gets severally out of the alkaline state and its easier for illness to set in. I had read before about alkaline diets to conceive boys, but it was interesting to find out afterwards.
