hi, i have never been to this board before, but i have some questions and i thought i would come to the one place that would have the answers. my name is Jaime and i have 2 little kiddos that just make my life worth living.
here's my problem. i know basically nothing about cycles, fertility and most other female reproductive things a woman (especially a mother) should know. bad me, i know. DH and i got a little carried away the other night, and the next morning i kinda panicked. we have been preventing with condoms, since our baby just turned 9 mo old and we're just not ready for another baby yet. i got online and used a fertility calendar thing to try and figure out when i was due to ovulate, hoping i missed my fertile days.
according to the fertility calendar, i ovulated on the 13 and DTD on the night of the 15. so what are the chances of me conceiving after ovulation?? i know the most fertile days are the days leading up to ovulation...but does the "risk" go down immediately after ovulation?? (see, i know nothing.)
thanks for your help.

Hi,
Welcome! I'm sure the experts will chime in soon. I also didn't know too much about cyles- I picked up the book Taking Control of your Fertility- it was great! I learned so much about what I could to prevent or try to conceive.
Do you know how long your cycles are? That can effect when you actually O. So if your cycles are 28 days then an O around 13-15 would make sense, if they are longer or shorter then your O day would change. For instance I had a cycle that was 34 days and my O day was CD21.
I am pretty sure that from ovulation the egg only lives 6-24hrs... I think...
Take good care,
Lauren
Hi Jaime.
Hi Jaime!
I think you got some great advice already, I just thought I'd give you some more information on ovulation.
