Hello Ladies! I am new to this board,. I have heard great things about yall so I am hoping yall can help me as I learn more about charting.

Here is my question~~

Is it common to get neg opk and actually ovulate??? I started testing on day 8. On day 13 there was a line but it was lighter than the control. Then on day 14 it was much lighter. I haven't seen even a faint line since. Today my temps JUMPED up. From all I have read that would mean that o happened. Right? So do you think all the opk did not pick up the o? Does anyone else have this problem? Would a monitor do a better job of predicting o? Do you think I oed based on my temps? http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/heatherb

Thanks so much!!!

Heather :)

Welcome to the board, Heather. :o)

It is very possible to O without getting a positive OPK. They work really well for some women and for others, well, not so much. You probably already know this, but it is best to do OPK's in the afternoon, after holding your urine for four hours (if possible). Even then, you may still miss the surge. I've never used one of the fertility monitors before, but I'd imagine that they'd be about as effective as regular OPK's because they are all testing for the same hormone. But, as always, your mileage may vary. lol

It does look like you may have an O on your chart there. You'll know for sure in a couple of days.

Definitely looks like an O on your chart, tho I'd put it a day later, at cd16, based on your temp rise and cp.
