I have never had issues with spotting until the last few months.

Hi Melissa. My first thought would be a possible progesterone imbalance? Are you still nursing...or are you in the process of weaning? That can throw things off a tad bit sometimes. (I'm an EBF supporter all the way...don't get me wrong!) Something you can try on your own would be to take 100mg Vitamin B6 daily. It can have a good effect on your progesterone and if it's going to work, it should work immediately. If that doesn't help, and the spotting is bothersome or continues to worsen, you should see your doctor. If you're in the process of weaning (or schedule changes) and that's the cause, I would think it would clear up fairly soon as your body finds "normal" again.

I am not nursing (DD self weaned about 9 months ago, so don't think that's the issue) - guess I really need to update my siggy :)

I wanted to add that 100mg of B6 is great! :) However, it can take up to 3 months for the B6 to take full effect. I took it for 2 years and did alot of reading on it and everything I found said that. BTW it worked for me by helping to lengthen my LP and it made me O earlier.

I agree with trying the B6. A friend of mine suggested that to me and within 2 weeks I discovered the difference...my LP went from 4 days to 9 days. I am take 200mg a day now and it has lengthened my LP even more and up until i started my Metformin again my spotting had cut down from a week of spotting before Af and 3-4 days spotting after AF to a few days all together plus spotting during O. My temps were in the hgher 96's areaand are now in the 97's into 98's. So I definitely suggest trying it out and letting us know the difference since everyone is different. It affected me right away while others it make a bit.

I started the B6 on CD12 this cycle - what a difference it has made!

Yay, so glad it seems to be working for you! In my experience, if it's going to work it works rather quickly. Amazingly quickly, in fact. I hope you'll see the rest of your cycle normalize as well.
