I just wanted to pop in and say "hi"-- see how you all are doing and send out some baby dust. April 20th is the day I found out I was pregnant, and I'm feeling a little nostalgic.
Matthew and Hailey are doing amazing...this really is the greatest adventure I could have ever experienced. They are 4 and a half months old now, and the best things that have ever happened to me. Matthew is 14 lbs 2 oz and Hailey is 12 lbs 2 oz. They are turning into little people, and have started actually noticing one another. Hailey's newest thing that she loves is to "screech"-- it's not really a yell, not really a scream, but it's a happy sound and she does it when she gets really excited. Matthew is a quiet soul, very observant-- the silent type. He only cries if he is really serious about it, but he is generally easily amused and will smille through tears often. We are very blessed-- they have regulated themselves to a pretty decent sleep schedule and generally sleep through the night. They go down about 7pm and stay asleep til about 5am. The big move happens this week, into their own room and separate cribs, so we'll see how this affects the current pattern....
Hailey has blazed her way into "food"-- so far, her faves are peas and sweet potatoes. Matthew shows no interest, although I offer every few days. I know he'll start when he's ready. For now, he just sits and watches sister when she eats. There is a running joke in the house that he's afraid that the boob will go away if he jumps on board, and he's definitely a boob baby. :)
As for me, I am still trying to adjust to the stay at home mom thing. It is the most incredible blessing I could have hoped for, but it is a challenge for me, as this is the first time in my adult life that I have not held a full time job. Having 2 babies and keeping them happy is definitely not hard, it's just a lot of work...I'm alone with them about 50 hours a week. To try and keep my sanity, I've decided to start training for a half marathon. I'm excited, and it's nice to have something thats just for me.
I hope you ladies are doing AMAZING.....keep your heads up on your journeys, the payoff is remarkable, and it really is worth every single second of agony and tears. I still pray for all of you and you come to my mind often. Every time I have a moment of frustration or fear or second guessing, I remind myself that there are women in this world that would give anything to have those frustrations, fears or moments of self doubt-- and I take a moment and pray that you all will "graduate" soon.
I've attached a couple of recent pictures for your viewing pleasure.
