Dixie, I am SOOOOO excited for you! Your little miracle finally came "unstuck"!...haha. How funny that you thought it was a boy all along, and you now have a perfect little girl! :)

I am sure that you and DH are over the moon in love with her! Hope that everyone is well, and I cannot wait to hear the whole story and see pictures!

Alrighty I finally have a moment (and my dad is holding Noelle) so I thought to post my birth story.

Let me start off by saying that having a easy pregnancy kicked me in the butt because I am convinced that is why my birth was...well not so easy.

So Friday I woke up at like 5am having what I thought must be contractions. Since I do not know what contractions felt like I just knew they were uncomfortable back spasm like things so I started counting. By like 9am they were 3 minutes apart so I called my sister and BIL and they took me to L&D.

Long story short they could not pick up my contractions and they were not changing my cervix. Even after 2 hours of monitoring I was only 1cm and the baby was still high up so they sent me home. I was MISERABLE all day. I tried to snooze in between contractions but it was very difficult. By like midnight I was so miserable I finally said we need to go back. Even if I had not changed I needed some sort of pain medication or something because I could not even sit still.

We got back to L&D and they checked me again. I was about 3cm dialated, even after all day pain. I knew this would not go well. However they decided to admit me. Thankfully within the hour I had my epidural and it was MUCH better. Hats off to the ladies who do it without but that is so totally not me. I did get to sleep well then. Sadly after several hours I only got to 5cm so they gave me pitocin to give me regular efficient contractions. Finally I think probably at about 2:15pm I was ready to push.

It did not take long for me to push out Noelle however there was some issues. I tore/had to be cut. Apparently there was one tight band that would not loosen. I felt the nurse trying to work it around Noelle's head but it did not go well. The big problem was that I tore an artery in my vagina giving birth and I was bleeding a decent amount. So much so she could not stitch me in the room because she needed suction

Dixie,

You were right, your little miracle did not really want to come "unstuck". I am sorry that you had some issues during the delivery, but Noelle is beautiful! (It really is fun being on team green...I was telling DH how you thought it was a boy all along--like we do--and he was smiling, saying he cannot wait to find out)

Enjoy every minute with your precious daughter!

Merry Christmas!

Oh Dixie, she is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Just got on here to check and see if she had arrived yet! LOVED your birth story... sounded VERY similar to my own with Cole! I am sorry to hear about the tearing, it really is very painful. BUT.... a beautiful miracle came from it, so its well worth the pain, isn't it?!? Congrats to you and your Dh, and be sure to soak up the NB stage... it goes by sooooooo fast!!!!
