Thanks about the names! The funny thing is I had these names picked out 2 years ago when we started our IF journey. It is ironic that now we are having a Christmas baby. Guess God had his own plans in mind!

Wow, your little one will be here before you know it Kelly!

You and Dixie have so much will power to not find out what you're having! I'm sort of on the fence about knowing the gender, but my DH is Mr. Type A Personality and is a major planner so it would kill him not knowing. LOL I love your color palette for his or her room too.

I am definitely falling into the nesting scene. As we speak I am washing my cloth diapers in prep for my little miracle. That an I just ordered some more (by the way they are super cute and addictive!). I got promises from my sister that my BIL will be over today to put up my shelves. Once that is done and I put up the cute decals I got from my shower it will be done and the promise of pictures will be done!

The shower went well, truely we were blessed. We got the baby swing, stroller and baby car seat and a whole bunch of other stuff. I had to return some duplicates so I picked up my baby monitor and breast feeding pillow. My sister got me the breast pump and so one of the last things I have to do is open that up and clean it. Plus wash a bunch of other dishes and bottles. While I plan on breast feeding I can only afford to be out of work for 8 weeks so eventually I will be pumping and storing.

I finally called a pediatrician. I left my name and number and the pediatric nurse will call back so I can ask questions or possibly set up an interview. Its not like I have a ton of questions but I also want to stick with one doctor so best make sure I like them!

I also had to call storage places. I have discovered even without all the baby things I have NO room. Lol. We do not have a garage, basement or attic so all of the stuff has to be crammed all over the house. Since we are adding a person I figure we needed to downsize on stuff. My sister and BIL will split the cost so we just have to figure out a size so I can unload some of this stuff. Mostly holiday decorations, luggage, old school books I want to keep (nursing ones that were REALLY expensive) stuff like that. It will open up the closet in our spare bedroom which would be REALLY nice.

How are you doing Kelly? Your room colors sound awesome! I definitely love the blue/green. I got an elephant blanket at the shower with those colors and I thought how pretty a room that would have made. Cannot wait to see more ladies in this group!

Sorry that it has been so long since I have updated! This time of year is just so busy with report cards, parent-teacher conferences, and Thanksgiving! I am finally taking a moment to rest and relax!

I am so jealous that your nursery is done, Dixie! It seems as though we have been working on ours a little bit at a time, and it is finally coming together. My father, who is a custom cabinetmaker, has made all of the furniture but has been so busy with his business (which is a fantastic thing) that he has not had time to come up and install it! I am really trying to be patient, but it is getting harder and harder as the date of Baby V's arrival gets closer and closer!

Our shower was the same weekend as yours, Dixie! It was so nice! We got an overwhelming amount of stuff! We also returned some stuff in order to purchase more needed items. Now where to put everything!?! I actually just got finished washing and folding a whole bunch of blankets, sheets, and clothes.

I am debating on whether or not to purchase the breast pump now or after the baby is born. I would like to give breastfeeding a try, but I have been told numerous times that it does not work for everyone, so I am nervous to purchase an expensive pump only to not be able to use it!

We are going to take the baby to our family doctor, not to a pediatrician. Our doctor is within walking distance from our house, and they have better hours than the ped. Not to mention, someone is always manning the phones for questions, etc. I figure, if we really need a ped, I can always call one later on.

So, at this week's OB visit, I was diagnosed with gestational hypertension. My hands and feet, as well as my face have been swelling for the past two weeks or so. On top of that, I gained 5 pounds in two weeks, which is almost 1/2 of what I had gained to date, and my blood pressure was elevated. The doctor had me purchase a blood pressure monitor, and I have to keep a log every four hours. The doc also told me to stay off my feet as much as possible. On Monday, he will evaluate my BP log and determine the best course of action. He said that continuing work is iffy at this point, and he has me coming every week now instead of every two. My one week appointments were not supposed to start until Christmas week.

So, I am really trying to take the doctor's advice about taking it easy, but it is hard with so much going on this time of year! But, I keep reminding myself how important it is to take care of this very special little one!

Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving!

Oh my I am sorry to hear you have hypertension! I agree take it easy. I know the desire to keep working as long as possible (I am still plugging away at work myself) however hypertension is certainly nothing to laugh at. Hopefully the doctor will figure out what the next best step for you is.

Yay to your dad getting lots of work although I can understand wanting to get the stuff installed. That is how I felt about the shelves in my nursery. I hated to harp on it to my BIL so I just tried to be patient. Which despite all the trials in my life is still difficult, lol.

I am down to the home stretch and definitely ready to stop being pregnant. Not that this has been a hard pregnancy at all. Really up until like 2 weeks ago I have had no pains or issues. Now it is just the desire to move on to the next step. However I still have a feeling my miracle will be late in being born. Which would fit considering it was late in being conceived.

I am glad you had such a wonderful baby shower! Not much longer for you either!

Well, a lot has happened since my update two days ago.

I faxed my bp numbers to the doctor on Monday morning, and he immediately called me and told me to head to the APU for monitoring. I spent several hours there, and in the end, was diagnosed with preeclampsia. My doctor ordered me to modified bedrest, lying on my left side as often as possible, propping my feet, reducing my salt intake, etc. Today was my last day of work until after the baby is born! While it will be nice to be off of work, this time will cut into my FMLA time after the baby is born, which is something I am not happy about. But, most importantly, I must take care of both baby and I right now. The doctor says that the goal is to at least make it another 2 - 3 weeks, though he said it is still possible to deliver on my scheduled date. It is a wait and see game he said.

And, on Sunday, Baby V's furniture was delivered by my wonderful father. Now, all he has to do is install the furniture, and the nursery will be ready to go. I look forward to sharing pictures! Dixie's pictures made me so anxious!

How are you feeling, Dixie? Anything exciting, new happening?
