at church today...

...during the portion of the service when the congregation shares "Joys and Concerns" one woman stood up and said, "I guess blessings come in three's now because my neice just gave birth, our neighbor just announced she's expecting, and our friend just announced she's expecting." As if it wasn't hard enough for me to hear that and try to ignore that everyone in the world around me is pregnant, my pastor followed up with, "It seems that there's a lot of that going around lately." He looked directly at me as he said it!!! He was the one who performed our wedding two years ago and I guess he's just expecting the next "natural" step to be announced any day. GRRR! I know he didn't mean anything offensive by it and neither did the woman sharing her joys, but it still made me sad.

Let's just hope that he got some devine message from God to deliver to me that I'd be the next one making that announcement.

people can be so insensitive, even without meaning it. it's so hard to see pg women and babies everywhere you turn. particularly somewhere that feels "safe". sending baby dust your way...

I too remember when I was having a really hard time about not being preg and had got a BFP. Me and DH had gone somewhere, to a fair or farmers market, and there were 6 preg ladies around me. I was getting so upset my DH had to finally tell me to calm down. Even now I find them all around. I don't know if it's because I notice it more or what? Congrats on the BFP, sending lots of good vibes your way!

You know what I think....I think pregnant women are like cats.....you know how if someone doesn't like a cat, or is allergic to a cat, that cat just won't stay away from that person.....its like they are cat magnets.....

Well I think that we are all Pregnant women magnets.....I have never seen more pregnant women in my life until I started ttc....now it seems I can't go anywhere with a pregnant lady being there, or hearing about someone that is pregnant now....its crazy

But I agree with the PP......maybe it would give you peace of mind to have a chat with your pastor....

Thank you all for your support. I have considered talking to him about it. I just can't seem to find the right time. Perhaps I'll call him some time this week.

LOL on the preist-lings and LOL on the cat-magnets!

{{{HUGS}}} Erin. That's frustrating.

Our pastor knows about our IF, as well as the other pastors (my DH is the children's pastor). And actually, one of the other pastor's wives has been TTC and has PCOS, like me. But she recently suffered a miscarriage at about 11 weeks, so the pastor's especially know to be sensitive about those things.

I think it might be good for you to talk to him about it. It also helps raise awareness to this whole thing of IF and bringing up the realization that there are other couples out there who struggle with the same thing.
