DOR and successful IUI

Hi Ladies! I was a lurker here when I was going through fertility treatments in the Fall, but I wanted to pop on to give some encouragement for anyone who may have been diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve.

Using Clomid and injectibles with IUI, I am now just a day shy of the halfway mark in my second pregnancy. I was very fortunate that my RE was so supportive because I didn't think we had a snowball's chance in Hell of conceiving.

I had an idea before I was even married that I may have fertility issues down the line when retrieval for the donor egg program I was working through was canceled because I didn't produce enough follicles. Oddly enough, less than a year after I got married (3 years after trying to be an egg donor) I got pregnant at 36 with my first.

Fast forward to 2009 and we are unable to get pregnant after 15 months of trying. Officially diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. Conceived after our first IUI - I had two very large follies to work with.

I just wanted to let anyone know that may have the same diagnosis that there is hope - it does happen. I couldn't find any anecdotal success stories with DOR and not even many women seeking fertility treatment for that diagnosis.

Hugs to you all - I know what a long and difficult process it can be. Good luck and positive thougths!

That is very encouraging! Thank you for sharing your story with us. I tried IVF last fall and it was canceled due to low response (3 follies), my RE said it sounded like DOR. Fell pg naturally this past January, very hopeful that I found my "golden egg" this time.

Congrats to you!
