Well I had my sonogram last Friday and the test went well, it was not as bad as I had expected. I've had 2 hysteroscopies done and was in more pain after them.
Anyways this is what the RE found.. inside my uterus I have 2 fibroids (submucous) (1 lg & 1 sm) and on the outside (subserous) I have several. From what I've known, submucous fibroids are the ones that cause the most problems with fertility. They can interfer with implantation, cause m/c. I've always had those kind, in fact all of my surgeries (hysterscopic myomectomy) have been done to remove that type. From the beginning after we weren't getting pg after 6 months (yes women do get pg with submucous fibroids), I really thought any Dr/RE would have checked me more thoroughly using tests like the sonogram or hysteroscopy. A regular u/s can only tell them so much. I know I was lucky that my last u/s was done by my RE and he noticed that the sonogram needed to be done. The subserous fibroids usually don't cause a problem with fertility, but can depending on location and size.
So the plan of attack is.. to have surgery to remove the submucous fibroids. I'm hoping at the end of the month. Then probably go on clomid again and try either naturally for a few months, and/or possibly do IUI. If we don't get pg (I'm giving no more then 6 months) then I'll have to consider having surgery to remove the subserous fibroids (abdominal myo) or start thinking about other options (adoption or surrogacy).
