Why did I think this might acually work?

URGH, just got in from my u/s and b/w this morning and things aren't looking good. I am basically not responding to the stims. I am on day 8 of stims and only have 6 follies, one of which is over 10. It is looking like my IVF cycle is going to get canceled. The nurse said they would wait to get my b/w results and discuss it this afternoon with the RE and let me know what to do. She said we could possibly convert this cycle to an IUI.

I asked her if it was looking like ovarian failure and she agreed that it was.

I am beyond depressed. I can't believe I let myself think this would actually work. I let my guard down and got all excited at the prospect of getting pg and having a healthy baby. It's obvious that it is just not in the cards for me. There has been one obstacle after another, when I am just going to let myself give up? DH asked me what I wanted to do, donor eggs? adopt? And I just can't even think about it right now. I'm numb.

Thanks Angela. It's funny yesterday the nurse doing the u/s said my lining was only at 6.2 mm and I said that was the thickest it's been in many months!

Oh Kelly, I'm sorry, I didn't get to come online while we were gone and I'm just getting through all the posts that I missed, so I just saw the post you wrote to me here.

As far as estrogen levels, they vary based on number of follies growing and their size.

Hi Grace,

Thanks for the info, you know I like to know how things work and a lot of times it is hard to get the answers out of the nurses at the practice.

The flooding was crazy here. It hasn't rained since Saturday but there are still some road closures and lots of people who don't have homes to go back to. DH and I were lucky that our house was okay. Our yard flooded about a foot and a half but luckily none came in the house. We learned a valuable lesson about flood insurance last week, make sure you have it before it starts raining! The really crazy thing is we have been in such a horrible drought for years who would've expected this?

Wow Kelly, I'm glad to hear that the flood water didn't reach into your house.

Boris loves the mud, seriously he would roll around in it and eat it all day if he could. My house is a total mess needless to say.

The IUI went well, we did do two. My RE said he doesn't really feel like that increases the odds significantly from the different studies he's seen but he said since we had so much invested and my insurance partially covers the procedure, then why not.

I hope AF shows very soon. Can you get started again right after AF? The only thing I can hope is that all of this pain and heartache you've been through pays off big time for you!

Aw, that's actually what I imagined Boris doing.
