Does anyone know...?

I am in my 9th week of PG and very excited. At week 7.5 we saw and heard the baby's heartbeat. My husband and I have been TTC for 8+ years and after a miscarriage in 2005 (we didn't see a heartbeat then) we finally got our miracle.

I am suffering from constipation and gas pains, so it hasn't been quiet "down there" at all and it worries me a little. With even small cramp or gas pain, I fear something bad is happening to the baby.

We conceived via IUI. I have diabetes 2 and PCOS and I am 37. My question is...Does anyone know what the chances of miscarriage is after the heartbeat is seen and heard?

Thanks for your thoughts,

Amy

My doctor's office had once said that once a heartbeat is detected the chances of a having a live birth are like 95%.

Hi, Amy!

What you're experiencing is TOTALLY normal. Every pregnant woman I know, and myself included when I was pg, suffers from gastrointestinal discomfort. Your digestive system slows down when you're pg b/c taking care of that growing baby is your body's first consideration--not digesting your food. So your food sits in your stomach, and you know the result. Baby is completely oblivious to your discomfort. Don't worry and enjoy your pregnancy! :)
