Hi, all. I'm new here and I don't have any specific questions right now, I just wanted to say what a relief it is just to know you all are out there. My husband and I have been TTC for three years and it's just not happening. We've both had complete workups and it's definitely a sperm count/motility issue. Unfortunately, that seems to be one of the most enigmatics things, and the hardest to "fix." I've been giving him a selenium supplement and trying to convince him to lose a little weight, but other than that, I don't know what else I can do.
Anyway, we start another round of AI next month. Unfortunately, my insurance doesn't cover in vitro so we're doing what we can and praying for the best.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Again, it just feels good to know I'm not alone!

Hello and Welcome to IF Support!
I'm so very sorry to hear that you and DH are having issues TTC.
Hi.
Hi Christy,
Welcome and thanks for sharing your story. We're dealing with male factor as well (along with a little me-factor thrown in the mix). ;) I have a short luteal phase which we're trying to fix with progesterone support and acupuncture. But hubby's problem seems harder, or impossible, to fix. He has only 4% morphology (normal-shaped sperm). All the other aspects of his sperm are fine or better than fine. There doesn't seem to be much that can be done to help it, but in my search I have found a few things that help count and motility. One is called FertilAid and the other is Proxeed. They're both vitamin supplements...I found FertilAid online and hubby's urologist mentioned Proxeed.
We're also trying several IUIs before considering IVF. We used to believe that if it couldn't happen on its own, then it wasn't meant to happen for us--but that was before we learned that it can't happen on its own. ;) So now we're just taking things as slow as we can while still moving forward. It's taking some time to get used to the idea of starting our babies outside of me. It took me a while to get used to the idea of IUI even...that our babies wouldn't be started in the intimate setting of our bed...but I am on IUI #3 now and very happy that we at least have a chance, no matter how small.
It is so helpful to know we're not alone going through this. :)
