HCG Injection Without Clomid

Hi. I cannot seem to find anything about having an HCG injection without using fertility drugs like clomid. My doctor is currently watching my follicles, and when they get to the right size she'll give me the HCG shot and my husband and I will "go for it!".
Has anybody tried this? Everything I read is either with clomid, or a series of shots, this is one shot. I really appreciate any comments, thank you!

My RE told us that the HcG shot is to help all of your follicles O at the same time, whether you are on meds or not......

HTH!

GL to you :)

Dear Susan, whoopz- I saw your post after I just posted a thank you to someone else. I'll get the hang. This is for BD, not IVF. I guess my doctor thinks since I've been pg before, I have a decent chance. That's I guess the only positive way to look at miscarriage, frankly it doesn't make me feel much better. I just worry about every single problem from infertility on...
and just FYI it took a long time before I became pg with the one I lost. eh. stress.
You and I are about the same cycle day (I'm CD 11)
we are cycle buddies!
Thanks for your hello, I appreciate it!
ps, my neighbor downstairs did Chinese medicine for a while, she quit right before she got pregnant (her doctor was so strict and controlling it started to freak her out)but she DID get pg, and her little girl is awesome GL to you too

hi! so this month if it looks like you'll O "on time" that's great! I am amazed by your until January statement. Good for you! With that healthy attitude lets hope this cycle is the one! you deserve it!How old are you? Maybe you're a lot younger than me? I'm 36. (I can't tell from your picture, which is very pretty but i have no concept of age when i look at photos)
I did a whole series of tests in the fall, then stopped them because I became pg. One big deal thing they found (big deal in some doc's think it hinders fertility, all know it causes miscarriage) was an infection kind of like an STD called micoplasma hominus. It has no symptoms, and apparently the husband and wife can toss it back and fourth to each other without ever knowing it. MY husband and I were both put on 3 weeks of antibiotics to get rid of it, it was during the antibiotics we got pg. (so i don't confuse you, the miscarriage was trisomy, the baby was sick) anyway, it's possible that infection kept us from getting knocked up for so long. there were a battery of test, I can't remember them all right now- no progesterone problems- i did have polyps, and i had surgery to remove them Feb 08. so that slowed down our TTC a little bit. altho i wasn't really ready anyway.
what's "right on time" for you? CD 14 or 16, how close are you to BD? (!)

hi, only 4 months TTC, but it was over a year TTC before the miscarriage. So.
I think you are good with every other day. It'll be better for his sperm, and since you are 27 you have a longer period of time for fertilization than somebody who is older. So seems no reason to push for the every day. When you say peak (talking about your OPK) what do you mean? Once you get a positive LH surge reading, that's it. You don't need to use another test, you'll ovulate in the next 24-36 hours. I'm just mentioning it because you could drive yourself crazy if you keep using the kit after you've gotten a positive reading.
reading your link/post/bio , I think you are definitely on the right track. You are being very smart.

Hey Susan, just wanted to let you know i already got the shot (!)
when i went in yesterday my follicles were big, so we went for it. So far no weird side effects- I really hope this just plain works, my husband and I have been through enough. I know you know what I mean. GL to you between now and Tuesday!
