Hello Everyone!
Well, on Thursday I got my results from Mayo. I have mixed feelings, but all in all, it's okay.
DH is fine. His numbers are good, and that's what we knew from a previous SA, however, it's necessary (and good) to recheck.
I have PCOS. Which we already knew, but my RE wanted to check some genetic factors as well. What he did tell me however, is that I have EXTREME insulin resistance. I'm prediabetic, and scared witless. However, my RE is great. I'm serious, freakin' fabulous. So, he went over everything and he gave me an Rx for Met. Not ER this time, because he believes that the ER (extended release) doesn't work as effectively. He's starting me out on 500 mg per day and then working me up to 2000 mg a day. Due to my extreme PCOS, I need it. I just can't seem to do anything half-ass. lol.
I'm bummed that I have to have extreme PCOS. He said that DH and I conceiving on our own is not likely, and that we'll need intervention. That's no biggie, I'm A-Okay with that. Whatever, as long as it happens. :) So, now I have to lose weight, big time, and then see him in 3 months. Until then he discourages pregnancy, but that's not likely anyway with everything that's going on. So I'm going to enjoy Christmas and then prepare for my lifestyle change. Basically since my PCOS is so bad, he recommends that I cut out all starches. Yes, cut out. Permanently. It's fine. We'll make it work.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Hugs and Smooches!

Hi Karla,
Wow.
Wow, Karla - you've got a lot to handle in the coming months, but I guess we need to think of it as moving in the right direction. It's just hard not to get frustrated at just how many hurdles you have to jump over. My doctor also advised me to lose weight because I have a family history of gestational high blood pressure. We took several months off from actively trying and I lost 40 pounds. (The doctor also said my hubby should lose some too but that's a battle I'm not winning.) Now we're back to actively trying.
My point is that sometimes you just want to scream because every time

Karla,
I am sorry to hear about your PCOS. It is great that you have such a wonderful RE. That can make all of the difference. Your attitude sounds fabulous and that is going to get you and your husband through this and pregnant.
Merry Christmas.
Love,
Marisa
