Hi,

I have been trying to get pregnant for 6 months and have recently been put on progesterone.  I am not sure what is up or down and my emotions are INSANE.  Can anyone relate?  Any input would be great.  I have also been told that FSH levels are high and will have to start Clomid next month.  EEK!!!

Thanks for listening.

Hello and Welcome!

It's important to remember that medications affect every person differently.

Hi! I'm relatively new here, but was just on progesterone injections until yesterday when I got my BFN. I really did not have many symptoms, though I expected them since I had read from others that it can make you very moody and have many other PMS-like symptoms. I did get some minor hot flashes, and bb's hurt.

I have also been on Clomid a couple of times. The first time, like Karla, I was an absolute witch. Not good when you're a teacher. I got several parent complaints on that one. Bad hot flashes and bloating/weight gain, too. I've called it the evil drug ever since. However, the second time I was put on Clomid, I didn't experience any symptoms.

Hope this helps. We gotta do what we gotta do, don't we? Oh, what we go through!

Thanks to both of you for your support. It is so helpful to know that others are out there that can understand the trials and tribulations of TTC. I am new here too and my friend recommended I join a board that I can get support from.

This is a very loaded question, but my husband is concerned about Clomid because my doctor (who is soon NOT going to be my doctor) was not very supportive in telling us the risks and possible side effects of clomid. Any suggestions on where I could find that? I am going to another doctor soon... but just trying to empower myself as much as possible.

Thank you so much for listening and being there.

Marisa

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!!

PS. On a progesterone high now... I will take it while I can get it :-)

Marisa,

The only places I can come up with off the top of my head for side effects of Clomid are to do some research online and also to ask your pharmacist. There is a book by Toni Weschler called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". She writes about Clomid in there and how it dries up your cm. My copy is probably outdated, but it's a good book nonetheless. Sorry I couldn't give you any more specific places to look, but there may be some women on this board who could. It's great you're advocating for yourself! You really have to arm yourself with information and not be afraid to ask questions. Good luck!
