Boy/Girl Twins!

Hi all.

Just wanted to drop by with an update. We just had our 20 wk u/s today and found out we are having boy/girl twins. We are ecstatic.

For those of you in a cycle right now or preparing for one, all the very best of luck. And keep the faith. My cycle was supposed to be cancelled because of my poor response to the stims, but I insisted we forge ahead. We only retrieved 6 mature eggs, and only 4 fertilized normally, but here we are with twins. It can happen.

Baby dust to all!!

Congrats on your Boy/Girl Twins. Now you will have one of each. YEAH!! I love that. So happy that your cycle worked for you. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

This is exactly the post I need to read right now :) I'm on day 11 of stims ... about 13-14 follicles and my E2 is only 660 :-(. I actually had my E2 drop 200 from Day 7 to Day 9 of stims.

Congrats on your twins and KUP!!!

Thank you so much, Chris.

We were so incredibly fortunate to have our first IVF cycle work. I am immensely grateful for that every day. I only wish everyone else could have the same luck.

Best of luck with your upcoming cycle. Baby dust to you! :-)

Thanks so much, Courtney.

It absolutely does feel like a dream. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world (and I do know how very lucky I am). I wish every day that more of my good friends here could experience this. I hope it comes very soon for you.

Take care, girl. And baby dust for you! :-)

Keep the faith, Ryan Ann.

On day 9 of stims, I had only four follicles that looked like they were going to go anywhere. That's when my IVF RE recommended that we convert to IUI. I couldn't let it go, and insisted that we keep stimming. On day 11, there were four more follies maturing and a few bringing up the rear.

After 13 days of stims, we retrieved 10 eggs, only 6 of which were mature. Out of those six, four made it all the way, and we transferred two of them (froze two). Those two fresh embies are now my boy/girl twins.

It absolutely can happen. Do what you feel, and what you believe to be the right thing. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed that you have the same "beginner's luck" with IVF that I did.

Take care, and here's some baby dust for you too! :-)

I am SO keeping everything crossed that this is it for you! I love that you're feeling really positive about this round. When will your cycle likely start? Please keep me posted.

I have a boy name picked (have had for a while), but DH and I can't agree on a girl name. Nothing really sticks out as "the one", you know? DH loves the uber-popular names like Ava and Olivia (and so do I), but they're just SO popular. He doesn't think it's a big deal, but I don't want to name my daughter the same thing that everyone else is. We'll see.

At least we can agree on a boy name. Our boy will be Nathaniel (Nate) Jon. Jon was my dad's name, and he passed away when I was 12. I've always wanted to have his name represented in my children's names somewhere. And I just really like the name Nate.

I will so be checking in on you to see how this cycle goes. Truckloads of baby dust coming your way!

Thanks!

And good tip on the Barbara Luke book. I will definitely check it out. There aren't that many really good books out there for women who are expecting multiples.

Good luck with your babes too! :-)
