Hello friends,

First and foremost, for those of you who are either experiencing the IVF journey, starting the IVF journey or thinking about it, utilize the message boards as your support system.  Whether you lurk or post, reading and sharing experiences will offer you "just the thing" you need to help you EVERY step of the way.  I am forever thankful!  I happened to relate to one specific person's experience and I held on to her story as inspiration and strength.

After 3 IUIs, 1 fresh IVF cycle, 6 months of gastroparesis (a terrible paralysis of my digestive system due to the fertility drugs) that included much discomfort, many stomach tests, medication, a drastic diet change, 20 lb weight loss, acupuncture and chiropractic visits to get myself healthy again in order to proceed with a natural (no drugs) FET cycle with the last 2 remaining frozen embryos (that's a mouthful).  I became pregnant!  Strong little frozen embryos!  I also took exceptionally good care of myself mentally and physically before and during the pregnancy.  I am happy to share my success story....a natural birth of my twins at 34 weeks on February 5th!

What a journey!  I learned a tremendous amount about myself and my strength.  I even surprised myself.

Through the emotional, physical and financial stress, take it one step at a time, one foot in front of the other.  Find a support system that works for you, that feels right.  I kept repeating to myself, "I know in my heart of hearts I am doing everything I possibly can to make this work.  If it doesn't work, I know there was nothing more I could have done.  I gave it my all.  I have no regrets."

I hope this story helps you.  I'm around for support or to chat.  I would like to "pay it forward" and help others through this journey.

Hallie

Hello hfhope,

I have had a very similar journey - with 5 IUIs, 1 year of accupuncture, a galbladder removal due to sever galbladder attacks right after a tubal laparoscopy (two major surgeries in one month), and chiropractic treaments -

TTC#1 since Jul 2005; 3 IVF's, 5 IUIs and now making 1 beautiful baby!!!
