I'm not sure how many of you were on this board when I was doing IVF (Nov 2008-Apr 2009). However after two IVF cycles, the second ending in a 2nd trimester miscarriage, my husband and I decided to put IVF on hold and start the adoption process. We are now the proud parents of Isaac who was born 5/11. We took him home from the hospital on 5/13. We couldn't be happier and I wish the best to all of you. Being a parent is an amazing experience and as we've come to learn, it doesn't matter how you get there!
Best of luck,
TTC since 3/07 Male Factor Infertility
IVF #1 Oct/Nov 2008-BFN
IVF #2 Dec 2008-BFP
Ends in late miscarriage (16 weeks) discovered at 18 week u/s. Angel baby boy (Sam) born sleeping on 4/28/09...Forever in our hearts.
Fetal autopsy shows Baby was a mirror image of me-no right hand, downturned left foot, missing left finger (I have no left hand and had an upturned right foot).
Reports also showed an immature placenta and a single umbilical artery which could have caused the musculoskeletal defects.
Cytogenetics pathology revealed a chromosomally "normal" baby boy.
Met with new RE July 2009-Love her!!
Met with genetics specialist Aug, Sept, and Nov 2009, found no genetic syndromes.
Debated going back to IVF, but decided to pursue adoption.
Matched with birthparents 4/21/10 - EDD 7/16 - 8/18. We cannot wait to welcome our little bundle of joy! Actual birthday 5/11/2010. Isaac is ours!
