I wish I did - I'm in Indiana and have a very good RE. I'm 38 so I understand your concern about the odds. My RE is giving me a 35% chance.

Good luck!

Hi there! I'm also 32 and in Miami. I go to Dr. Akerman at the Fertility & IVF Center of Miami. It's in the Medical Arts Building at Baptist Hospital. I know several other women who go there, two of whom are pregnant. I really like Dr. Akerman--he's kind and takes all the time we need to answer my questions. He's also bilingual, in case you speak Spanish.

At first, it may not seem like the friendliest place because they're very busy. And Dr. Jacobs (the other IVF doctor) has an abrupt bedside manner and comes across as very clinical. But both Jacobs and Akerman are very good doctors with high success rates for people in our age group. And their embryologist, Dr. Knickerbocker, is just a sweetheart. Everyone I know who goes there loves him.

I'm currently doing IVF #2. We have male factor but also need to do PGD (genetic testing) because both my dh and me carry cystic fibrosis mutations. I am in the 2WW and have my beta on 8/6.

I'd be happy to answer any questions about Dr. Akerman and the Center.

Good luck!

Alyse

i went to this dr. and i did not like how he was with me. he was acting like he was i n a hurry. i really hate to be treated like that when i am putting in a lot of money on this. a doctor should never rush a patient. i had a lot of question, but he was in a hurry to see the next patient. i must feel good about the doctor frist. if your attitude is not right, i will never come back to you again nor will i send people to them. do you know of any other good, good, good doctor that does ivf. thank you for your time.
