Mom Lins, Thank you so much for your encouraging words! I am glad you got through your cycle okay and lots of luck on your transfer tomorrow! As you said (and I have to keep reminding myself), this is the journey that will get us the babies we all want. It is interesting that you mentioned the acupucture, because I was just listening to a podcast that was saying it may help with the odds of pregnancy in IVF cycles. The host summed it up by saying, "It can't hurt and it might help." Good luck tomorrow and I hope this is your first and last cycle too :)

I have been put under a couple of times, including just a month or so ago to have a polyp removed in prep for my IVF cycle, and let me tell you, it's awesome. Yes, things could go wrong, but that's just very rare. The only problem I ever have is them getting the IV, otherwise, you're just asleep before you know it....one second you're awake and the next thing you know they're talking to you after your procedure to wake you up...and you wake up kind of slowly and really can't tell anything has been done...in fact, you might feel kind of good! So, just try and relax as much as you can and know you'll be fine.

Shandancafe,

Thanks for your welcome and for your reassurances! It is valuable advice about taking things one step at a time. I am meeting with the IVF nurse this week, and I think she will be going over the injections, monitoring, etc. It will help me to feel some small sense of control if I can cross things off as I finish them, like you said! It will make it feel like more of a routine. Good luck in your 2ww..I hope that test is positive! It's wonderful and very comforting to see that everyone here is going through the same process.

Hi Mom_Lins,

Just read your post and am in the same situation! I had my retrieval on Friday and my transfer today. The tww is going to be a killer! I am also trying to stay positive, but I too have been through multiple IUI's with no luck. They transfered two embryos and the doctor tried to scare me into only using one, but we used two anyway. This was my first IVF cycle. How do you feel today? I keep feeling like I should "know" if it worked, and I don't have that feeling. I know it is probably crazy.
