Hello Ladies,

Well here we are again - getting ready to start another IVF.  I don't know if anyone remembers me - I had my IVF in Jan and although we got a BFP, it ended in miscarriage at week 10.  It was pretty devestating, since we had gone in for u/s, even seen the heartbeat and had just been released to obgyn.

We are ready to start again, so pretty excited to be cycling.  Anyone else cycling with me in August?

So now waiting for Day 1 of my period so I can call to schedule my mock transfer.  Then BCP for 2 weeks so I should be doing injections by early August.

I've also been doing acupuncture since early June just to keep me relaxed.  So far it's working, I feel pretty good about going into this and keeping my fingers crossed.

So who's cycling with me in August???.....lol.  Good luck to us all, ladies, and I'm here to offer my support to you.

Chris

Thank you to all for your kind and encouraging wishes!

I just got home from my embryo transfer. Out of the 5, 3 made it to today. 2 are the best quality and the other is still growing, so they put the two best ones back inside of me this afternoon, and they will wait to see if the third will develop enough to be frozen. The process went smoothly, though I had actually drunk a little too much water (they want you to have a full bladder) and they let me relieve myself a little before the procedure. My palms had started sweating. But then I was okay. I can barely believe I have two little babies in me right now! I'm so happy.

Leah, congratulations on your successful transfer, too. And good job getting the two instead of just one. I think that's the right way to go. Nice job sticking to what you think is right for you and your family. Now, all we need to do is wait for our blood test day. Yay!

Hi Hannah,

I can reassure you that YES, the pain is started to subside... My ER was last Wednesday, and I felt AWFUL Thursday and Friday, then by Saturday, things started getting better and continued getting better every day. I'm still not 100% (at my transfer yesterday, the u/s showed that my ovaries are still quite swollen and there's some fluid in my abdomen) but I'm continuing to feel better each day. Since your ER is tomorrow, here's what I wish I'd been told before my ER: TAKE A BATH TONIGHT! Shave your legs, relax, enjoy! Go swimming, enjoy a hottub (if available), because there's none of that after the ER until the pregnancy test, and you will miss it!! I'm not a huge bath person, but all I've wanted with the swelling and everything is to relax in a tub- plus it's been uncomfortable to shave my legs in the shower.

With all that said, your ER should be much better than mine- one of my best friends got 9 eggs at her ER (and is pregnant with one now!!) and her ER was easy, no problems whatsoever. My ovaries just decided to kick in and make up for nearly 15 years of extremely inconsistent ovulation all in one day, lol!

Can't wait to hear your report after tomorrow's ER! :) Good luck!

Hi ladies,
I'm back from my ER and feeling a little better than I did a couple of hours ago. They retrieved 10 eggs! I'm cautiously excited! They will call tomorrow to let me know how many fertilized.

Thanks everyone for your support...you've been terrific. Lynn, it was very sweet of you to check in on me.

Leah - Thanks for the tips. I read them last night! My instructions say that I can take a bath if I'd like to...interesting that different physicians have different philosophies.

Ginger - good luck with your retrieval later this week...I'm thinking of you.

Hugs,
Hannah
