Hi Everyone!

DH and I decided to jump in for august IVF! I am on BCPs now until July 20th. I should get my finalized schedule this Friday. I just can't wait and have to know if anyone else is cycling in August with me!

I am starting to get really worried about the injections and if this is the right thing to do and all of those other things that pop into your head at times like these. So any advice and encouragement would be appreciated!

Good luck to everyone! FX for August BFPs!!!!

Me - 23 DH - 27 TTC #1 since 08/2009 severe MFI, azoo. Starting IVF #1 in August 2011!!!

of course every one and every cycle is different, so I can't say this goes for everyone - but I have always started lupron on Day 21. my 1st cycle I was on it for 3 weeks becuase AF came, so after 3 weeks, I then started stimming. The last 2 cycles I started stims after only 2 weeks ( and I can't remember if I got AF or not). The scan could be to see if you are ready for stims? again - i remember the 1st time they did my scan and my lining was too thick, so the knew AF was coming and thats why i stayed on lupron for one extra week.

I know its so easy to get hung up on the whys and hows and all that - I try to keep "sane" about it and just go thru the motions without thinking too much. Of course - I say that know while I am just in the waiting game for a few more days - once I get in the thick of it, I am SURE I will obsess over every little thing! lol!!

I have a really helpful secretary at my RE's office and she told me if I have any questions to call but I was reserving all my questions for my RE or the nurse. I guess I might as well take her up on her offer tomorrow. I might as well try to get some peace of mind. Anyways, I appreciate you 'stumbling' down memory lane trying to help me :) take care.

Sorry to interrupt your strand! I am just lurking and want to wish you all GL for your cycles (I was part of the April group)! I noticed some of you have to do TESE/MESA, and I wanted to let you know how great of an experience I had with it. My DH did it under local, and though he admits it was strange, as I was waking up from ER I heard him laughing with the DR. It was really scary going for ER and not knowing what they would find. I also heard to have it done a day before from a few people on ivillage, but his DR thought that was unnecessary. My RE even warned us to have donor sperm on hand, but we decided that was not an option for us. Anyhow, we ended up BFP on our first try. We also have seven frozen hatching blasts and vials of sperm frozen. Honestly, it was a miracle. DH's recovery was fine; he felt if he had to do it again that he could do it under local. I figure too, it is about time men have to deal with some pain during pregnancy/childbirth right?! :smileyvery-happy: Anyhow, just wanted to share, because it was hard for me to find examples of others with TESE/MESA when I really needed them. I wish you all great success!

Thanks Jennifer, suprefact is similiar to lupron. It is used to down regulate or shut down the pituitary gland so that the RE can have more control over the hormones.
The appointment went well, the nurse showed us how to administer it, the suprefact comes in a liquid form with nothing to mix. So it was very easy, the not so good part is that it has to be injected into the stomach only (ouch!!). She said I will be on this drug throughout my ivf cycle up until the ER. She also said that later on after my scan on the 12th of August I might have to inject it twice a day along with my stims. I hate needles so this was a little bit upsetting for me. Well things will be quiet on my side till August 12th.
Good luck with your sono tomorrow, I hope all goes well. kup
How are the rest of you doing? Are you antsy to get started, I know I was :)
