Hi Everyone!

DH and I decided to jump in for august IVF! I am on BCPs now until July 20th. I should get my finalized schedule this Friday. I just can't wait and have to know if anyone else is cycling in August with me!

I am starting to get really worried about the injections and if this is the right thing to do and all of those other things that pop into your head at times like these. So any advice and encouragement would be appreciated!

Good luck to everyone! FX for August BFPs!!!!

Me - 23 DH - 27 TTC #1 since 08/2009 severe MFI, azoo. Starting IVF #1 in August 2011!!!

Babrego! You are right..the internet and the heinz variety of information you get will drive you BONKERS and isn't always very accurate! (Though I will admit...I am guilty of internet surfing too).

My E2 level today after 4 days of 225/75 was 360ish.... and my RE said that was perfect. They actually decided to UP my Follistim dose from 225 to 300 for the next 2 days. According to my mother...(Who is a Dr.)... Womens E2 levels WILL Vary, but typically a level of 1000 and above is appropriate in an IVF cycle....(This would be an idea of what our levels could be by th time we get to ET and transfer.

Maybe you are SUPER ovary Girl..and they are lowering your dose simply because you are responding VERY well. I have 15 follies today between 9mm-12mm....and My dose went UP because they arehoping to increase the sizes of my Follie Football team.

Keep us posted....and don;t worry! Your RE knows the ropes and what is, can or WILL work best for you!

I am a definite internet junkie myself - so i know how hard it is to stay away, but you definitely have to take all the info with a grain of salt! It will almost certainly drive you bonkers!!! lol!!!

IVF bribery... I like it! lol!!!

Babrego & Lindsay - You are both on your way, I'm getting so excited for both of you!!! And always remember - all's it takes is one egg and one sperm - so try to not got too hung up on quanties and sizes - let the dr's stress about that - thats what they get paid the big bucks for, right? :) Again - i know easier said then done - just take it day by day as best you can!

The fet won't be til the end of the month.... 4 weeks of shots, which is alot longer then I thought but, that's ok... As long as it works, right! Lol! But "if" it doesn't, we will definitely do a fresh cycle after. Of course... We'll have to review our finances first (almost everything is out of pocket for us).... But I'm not going to stress about that quite yet! :)

babrego, I'm glad I can help :) My RE doesn't explain every single thing in detail but if I ever want to know anything I just call up the nurse. Another thing about E2 levels is that it varies from woman to woman so what may seem high for someone may be very normal for another.

I am always on the net checking stuff out too, I guess it is hard not to 'obsess' but I'm working on it. My nurse called today, she said my app. is anytime between 7:30 -9am on Friday, so I guess one of the nurses will be doing this scan and not my RE. I will also learn how to mix and administer the menopur shots and have some blood tests done.If the blood tests are good I will get the green light to take the shot that evening. Af came today so that is perfect timing for day 3 blood tests on Friday.

Jennifer:

I call our first IVF our Citibank Babies. How many people can tell their children they "Charged them". This IVF is compliments of Mastercard and Discover...... I wonder If I am getting any miles or reward points?? During out first IVF I had insurance thru MY company..which AT LEAST covered my Consult, Mock Transfer, Saline Ultrasound and pre-IVF Blood tests....

This time..Our BC/BS does not cover ANYTHING!!! Can you believe the Lab sent us a 1200.00 Bill for our Hep/HIV/Etc Bloodtests that are required pre-IVF...I should have gone to the free Clinic and told them my husband had an affair with a hooker...Then My tests would have been FREE!!!!

Next time...I'll know ALL the loopholes.....Ha, Ha

LOL - we say the same thing... when our DD grows up and gives us "trouble" or is ever ungrateful - we are going to show her the IVF bills and how much she cost us!!! and I ABSOLUTELY charged it and got points!!! :)

same with us - 1st IVF was covered, but since then I've changed jobs and now mine pays NOTHING. (which is ridiculous) - luckly I am also covered under my husband and his picks up a little here and there - but not much... but we'll take whatever we can get.

But - it's all certainly worth it, right! :)

Hi Amanda -
good luck on friday - kup. And that's great that AF came (isn't it funny how *sometimes* its a GOOD thing when AF comes!). Mine was actually due today too - (and I'm pretty clockwork) - so I'm surprised she hasn't shown up... but with the Lupron, maybe I won't get it? I wish I could remember my last cycle and if it came or not! I really do NOT want it to be late and push out the transfer! :( If I calculate correclty, the ET would be labor day weekend - which would be PERFECT becuase I won't have to call out of work thanks to having monday off!

Jennifer,Thanks :) I was worried that af will come late and push everything back too but for once she didn't. I hope she plays nice with you too so you can have your ET around labor day weekend.

Lindsay, you are too funny, I love your sense of humor :) Our insurance does not cover infertility so for our 1st cycle we paid 'out of pocket' but luckly my in-laws paid half the cost of our cycle. This time we took a loan and my in-laws offered to pay off half of the loan :) Mh dh is an only child so their only hope of having grandkids is through us, that is why they are so helpful financially. I'm just so grateful.

Today my dh had to leave for work early so I had to do the stomach injection by myself, surprisingly it wasn't too bad, I am so proud of myself.
