Hello ladies,

What are you doing leading up to your cycle? I have to wait a couple AF's after a chemical pregnancy. Which is fine because I would like to lower my BMI by 25 lbs.
Me 34 DH 50 Sept 2007 failed VR November 2008 2nd failed VR April 2009 failed TESA 4% motility with none to use after freeze. DH massive infection post-op two rounds of antibiotics. Set for first IVF cycle with fresh TESA and Donor back-up; ER July 13

So, I finally started AF (for real, not false alarm like last week) Saturday (8 days late). I called my RE on Saturday and they scheduled me this morning. They went ahead and started me on BCPs today as apparently my cycles are out of sync from all the hormones over the past 2 years. Anyways, they told me my START date would be Nov 19. I was under the impression that would be my ET date...boo!!! I just feel like I'm wasting so much time! Anyways, she said since I'm on BCPs already, if they happen to have a cancellation, they may be able to get me started sooner. I'm keeping my fingers crossed to start sooner, but not holding my breathe. Do you guys feel like you can't get started soon enough...I know I just need to be patient, but that is definitely not one of my virtues!!!

Jamie - That sucks!! I am usually a pretty patient person but now that I have a plan I can't wait to get started so I totally understand! I am surprised they are having you start BCP already if you wont start meds until mid November! Oh well hopefully they will fit you in sooner.

Meanwhile I have 10 days til AF..yes I am counting down because then I can start bcp. lol I know its not a huge deal but taking them will make me feel like I am doing something constructive towards iVF.

However I got on the scale this morning and I am up 5 lbs!??!?! Not sure how but I need to get my butt in gear. I wanted to lose weight b4 IVF not GAIN weight. Ugh.

Hope everyone is doing well. Has anyone lost any weight?

Thanks, Elizabeth, it does suck!

I think the reason they put me on BCPs now is that I have about 8 weeks til stims. My cycle is generally 28 days on the dot, but was 8 days late this time. If I'm late again (let's say it takes 5 or 6 weeks for me to start), it will be too close to stims. And I do not want to have to put it off any further b/c my body won't cooperate!! Secretly I'm also hoping they put me on early in the hopes someone cancels and I can start early.

I hear you about weight gain. I've gained about 15 lbs in the past 2 years and just can't shake it. My BMI is about 25 right now and I really would like to get more in the normal range!! I know that depression associated with IF (at least

Jamie: Whoohoo... You are starting BCP. I am confused. Is November 19th when you start taking drugs or is that when they expect to do the retrieval?

Elizabeth: That sucks about the weight gain but you have done so good losing 45 pounds. That is an amazing accomplishment. I've only lost about 13 pounds and hope to lose more while I wait to get started.

I should get AF around September 23rd so I should be starting BCP before too long. My TSH was a bit high at 3.25 so they have me on meds and I have to retest in 4 weeks. If it doesn't get down to 2.5 or lower then I have to stay on BCP for a bit longer to give me more time to get my TSH down. I really hope my recheck is perfect and I can start the fertility meds on schedule. I have a pap scheduled for Sept 20th (need to before IVF) and all I know is that better be normal. I don't like all these last minute delays.

Elizabeth - The IVF nurse said that I needed a pap in the last year which I hadn't so you will be fine. I would ask your RE about the TSH test because if yours is higher than 2.5 it will increase the miscarriage risk and possibly get in the way of pregnancy. That test was a requirement at our clinic. The normal range is up to 5 for people not TTC but they like it below 2.5 when TTC.

Christy-I just looked at my old test results from 2009 and I had a TSH of 2.44, so it was normal then, I wonder if it can change. That might be why the doctor didn't order it.

Who knows. Thanks for the heads up. I am still gonna ask about it. :)

Elizabeth: I got curious and looked at my old results for TSH. On 11/13/2009 it was 2.8 and on 8/29/11 it was 3.25.

Hi girls, sorry I don't know anything about TSH numbers. I never knew any of my numbers for any my cycles. I'm down about 7 lbs and I feel great. Unfortunately I am about 9 days late for AF :(

I'm not using bcp's this time and I'm not sure when I start the estrogen priming so I might just touch base with RE.

I hope she comes soon so I can get this show on the road. On the other hand I am enjoying my time away from hormones! I keep thinking about how devastating another BFN would be but there are couples out there on their 3rd 4th try. Need to think positive!

I'm super excited! Just got a call from my clinic and they are moving my start date to October 29! So I will start stims that day.

On a not so good note, the BCPs are giving me a massive headache. I read this is pretty normal and should go away but definitely not enjoying it!

I don't know a lot about TSH numbers but I have been diagnosed with antithyroid peroxidase and my RE put me on low dose synthroid about 6 months ago.
