Cycling in June?

I graduated to IVF after another failed IUI. In fact, I'm waiting for AF to arrive and she's not cooperating. I stopped taking the progesterone supplements 5 days ago and all I've done is a little spotting yesterday. Anyway, as soon as she gets it together I can start the BCPs on CD3. I'm more than a little scared of this but since we really decided to take this plunge, I'm eager to get going! We've been TTC for 3 years and have had one m/c...I'm ready for a triumph!

BCPs for 21 days (I guess?) and then on to lupron. Who's with me?

That does sound a bit long to wait for a beta mine is scheduled for 2 weeks past retrieval *so 9 ish days post transfer if I do another 5dt.
I *am* overweight and only do the one trigger shot, I guess you doctor has a theory about a double trigger being better.

AFM: the results today were mixed, many fewer eggs retrieved than hoped (partly because my ovaries were so high- 27 were retrieved, I have a feeling they had to leave quite a few behind. I feel terrible (nothing like my last two retrievals, where I didn't even touch the pain meds), but they had warned me that they had to do a lot of pushing to get the ovaries down where they wanted them. The good news is they think they can fertilize 18, which is more than usual and a higher percentage, so maybe it will go well (fingers crossed). I call tomorrow for my fertilization report.

Sarah, Yeah, 27 is alot!! Hopefully they can fertilize most of them. Can't wait to hear your fert report tomorrow! GL!

Chouli, Yay on finishing the bcp and moving on to the stims!! That's exciting. Hoping you grow lots of follies!

I am hopefully counting down my stims, to 2-3 more days. And nervously/anxiously awaiting Monday's appt to find out what my eggies are doing in there.

Kim, Thanks for checking in! Still hoping the best for your FET. You'll have to let us know here how you're doing as your cycle goes on.

The fertilization report was a bit disappointing but could have been worse, my percentages vs. number retrieved tend to be bad. They inseminated 16 and of those 9 fertilized normally. 2 are in the freezer, the other 7 are in the race for ET on Wednesday 6/15.

Sarah, 9 is still a good number to be working with. I find it interesting that they froze 2 right away, is that typical? I guess I thought they waited to see which ones made it to 3-5 days before freezing any. That's great though that you have those on standby if needed. Remind me, did you do ICSI? Good luck on the 15th!! I could be having my ER the same day as your ET!

How's everyone else doing? Keeping busy? Chouli, enjoy your med free day!!

AFM ~ I'm starting to get slightly uncomfortable in my low abdomen/ovary areas, which I'm happy about! Glad to be feeling something finally and hoping it's enough!!

My clinic believes in "PN" freezing (before nucleus), so in someone my age if they have more than 7 they tend to freeze the extras right away. These are the most durable embryos, waiting until day 5 makes it much less likely that there will be anything to freeze. They have found that day 3 embryos are more fragile than PN/blasts. Funny how all the clinics are so different. Admittedly my previous PN embryos resulted in an unsuccessful FET. So I certainly don't look at these as an insurance policy as I know all too well that IVF is a crap-shoot.
We always do ICSI as we use sperm from TESE. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, we have agreed this is our last shot...

I'm glad that you are feeling the stims, it's always a good sign!

I agree that 9 is still a great number to be working with. My RE also freezes eggs for women who make 13+. She said studies show it increases the hardiness of the embryos.

I am getting very nervous. I'm supposed to start stims tomorrow, but I haven't started bleeding yet. I took my last BCP friday evening, and AF hasn't even started yet.

Diana- you're getting closer! ER this week, yay!

Sarah- FX for those 7! How many do you plan to transfer?

Chouli- I looked back at my previous fresh cycles. I didn't get AF until 2 days after I started stims.

AFM-still feeling mildly nauseous and pretty weak. I've gotta kick this bug. I'm supposed to get on a plane a week from today to go on vacation and transfer is supposed to happen in 11 days. I wanted to be healthy and rested, not weak and recovering. I'm still on Lupron and estrogen patches. I have an u/s on Tuesday to check my lining. Hopefully I can stop the Lupron this week, but we all know what that means...PIO yuck!

Lauren
