Cycling in June?

I graduated to IVF after another failed IUI. In fact, I'm waiting for AF to arrive and she's not cooperating. I stopped taking the progesterone supplements 5 days ago and all I've done is a little spotting yesterday. Anyway, as soon as she gets it together I can start the BCPs on CD3. I'm more than a little scared of this but since we really decided to take this plunge, I'm eager to get going! We've been TTC for 3 years and have had one m/c...I'm ready for a triumph!

BCPs for 21 days (I guess?) and then on to lupron. Who's with me?

Hi, thanks! I'm glad to see in your siggy that you and your DH are about the same ages as we are (33 and 45). Also, that you used ICSI. Our RE wants us to use ICSI b/c of my DH's sperm problems. Since you've done this before, can you tell me some of the side effects from all the meds? I did injectibles on two of my IUI cycles, but at only 75 IUs, so I don't know what to expect.

Even though I'm not doing a fresh cycle, count me in! I started Lupron

We went in this morning and had our final IVF consult. It involved doing a practice ET to measure and make sure everything would go smoothly the day of. We sat with the RE and discussed everything:

1. I apparently don't need to worry about not making enough eggs or about AMA or about menopause. My FSH, LH and estrogen are "always good" and my AMH is "a very high 6.0". She said that my antral count is awesome and that because of how well I always respond to meds (even just letrazole)

Hello. I used to be a big time spender on the ttc board until the last couple years. My previous username was 23di, but when iVillage went to the new format I couldn't log on with that name anymore, so now here I am. DH and I have been trying for #1 for 6 years (last month). We've done Clomid, Femara with IUIs and an injectible IUI cycle. All of which have never ended in a BFP, not even a false positive! SO...the last intervention cycle we did was October of '09 and we've been saving since then for IVF and I've been secretely hoping it would just happen on it's own in the meantime since I really haven't been as focused on where I am in my cycle...at least not every month. ;) You all know how hard it is to turn that part of yourself off! I've been planning June for the past few months, finally got all the testing done that I needed to catch up on, started acupuncture and changing my diet to see if that will help and I started the bcp for this cycle

I am absolutely looking for another cycle buddy! And it sounds like your story is similar to mine. I'm so glad you made it to IVF and I hope it works wonders for us both!
One thing about #2 that could be a problem for me/you is some women have eggs that are hard to penetrate. There are chaperone cells surrounding it and the sperm have to have the right protein markers and be vigorous enough to get through them. I'm a couple weeks away from 34 so maybe my eggs are a little tougher, and DH is 45 and we know his sperm aren't the best. So when they do our ICSI, they'll bypass that potential problem.
Right now we're in kind of a limbo. The nurse has ordered the meds, but the pharm hasn't called so I don't know the total bill. AND the RE office has two companies for financing (one for shared risk, the other for the actual financing) and we're waiting on a call from them on Tues. Of course we're nervous that we will/won't be accepted. If not, we'll have to scramble to make arrangements since the payment is due 6/10.
That's rough that you and your DH work opposite shifts. We've done that for a handfull of months. My DH is a police sergeant and I am a teacher. What do you do?
The May Cyclers thread has a really lovely data table that the originator updates with info on their ladies. I need to figure out how to do that.

I love the chart!

Chouli- I know what you mean about needing a plan! I am so OCD I drive myself crazy during my cycles!

Diana- Welcome to the board and the wonderful world of IVF :smileywink: It's a difficult process to go through, physically, emotionally, and financially, but this IVF board was my lifeline during my cycles. It is so nice to have people to compare cycles with and who understand what you're going through.

There's nothing new happening on this end. FET's tend to be pretty boring :smileyhappy : I am still on Lupron and I stopped my bcp on Tuesday, so I have an u/s this coming Wednesday to determine if I can start my estrogen.

Lauren
