December Cycle

Anyone else out there doing a cycle in December? We have 1 frozen embryo that we have decided to go ahead and try to transfer. It was frozen from the cycle which we received our DS from. He is currently 14 months old (will be 15 months on Monday). Our frozen anniversary date is 12/16 so if we use the embryo before then we don't have to pay for a whole year of freezing again. I am scheduled for a HSN on Friday 10/28 and will then begin Lupron. I began BCP last night. They are guessing that the FET will be the first week of December. Praying that this cycle works for us so we can have a Christmas BFP. We do have 2 fresh cycles left also that insurance will cover so we have back up. I've been dying to start the FET earlier, but I'm the matron of honor in my best friend's wedding in May and didn't want to be too pregnant. Wishing everyone else lots of luck!

Me: 29 (PCOS) DH: 32 (Poor Morphology & Low Count)

IVF #1 – December 2008 – BFN

IVF #2 – February 2009 – BFP but ends in early miscarriage

FET #1 – March/April 2009 – BFN

IVF #3 – December 2009 – BFP – Expect

Hi everyone,

Julieann - You and I are very close in our cycles... I started stims on Monday. So far no side effects, that I can tell. How are you feeling?

Pixie and Pong - Pineapple was on sale at the grocery store this week... I decided it was a good omen and bought one! I've also read that walnut is good for thickening the lining, and I've been munching on those for the past 4 months or so. I've actually started to like them!

Christy - Glad to hear you've got a calendar going! Progress is always good.

Michelle - I totally understand the panic about getting to the "last stop" on this crazy train. DH wants to talk about next steps all the time, but I don't want to stress about it too much just yet. TTC has been my biggest hobby for the last 2 years, and I don't know where I would focus next if this doesn't work. How do you make yourself just give up?

Lindsay - Glad your baseline results were good! I've never heard of a hormone patch used in IVF, but that's a great alternative to MORE injections.

AFM - As I posted in the IVF questions section, my bw was mixed from my Monday appt. E2 was normal but FSH was high (19.5) for the 2nd month in a row. I told my RE I wanted to stim anyway just to see what happens, and he said "I guess you can override me." Guess I'm not going to be his favorite patient!

Jennifer, 35. DH 32 | TTC our first for 2 years, and blessed with IF insurance coverage DX: DOR and Endometriosis. Stage 3 endo Apr 2011; FSH: 20.5 in Oct 2011 and 19.5 in Nov 2011 IVF#1 Dec 2011 - 1 mature & 1 intermediate egg retrieved, 1 perfec

Pong.....Congrats on your ER and 8 embies!!! You will have to let us all know how they are "cooking" before your ET. You might just be one of our first BFP's!!! I am hoping that Christmas IS the season of miracles for ALL of us!

We should really get a chary going...Pix...do YOU know how to do one?? I'm pretty sure one of our December Gals had/has an FET this week too??

The patches I am wearing are Vivelle estrogen patches..... They are not terribly "attractive".....but at least it is winter and I am not prancing around in patches and a bikini! I have never used them in a cycle before...so they are new to me.

Jenni: Have you always had a high FSH...or is this new? I have not hadthis issue...so I am not sure if most dr's stop stimming if an FSH i high. Good for you for taking charge..LOL. Have you never had your AMH checked?? Our RE checked ours prior to each cycle as a standard.

During my first 2 IVF's..I was monitored on Day 4 of Stimming....and then depending on progress... Day 7, Day 9...Day 10. Yes....there were times that I felt like I was ALWAYS there!!! Everyone varies depending on how the follies are growing.

Sounds like Jenni and Julieann are well underway.

Alicia......is your FET this week?? Wondering how you are and where you are at in the process..POST SOOON!

Christy.....any wordon your dates yet??

Michelle: How is loopey-Lupron treating you?? LOL

Hi Gals.

First off, Pong - I am excited that you had your ET and got 8. Keep us updated on their progress.

Lindsay: I wonder if they make the chart in Excel and somehow copy it over to IV. I do see something called "Paste from Word" next to the smiley face icon above. I know you can make charts in Word so they could have used that. I would play around with Word and try it but I just got a new laptop and hubby needs to install office on it. If nobody can do the chart, I will. I would just need to either have him find the Microsoft CDs down in the basement or use his computer.

Me: I am still waiting for my dates in the mail. We are planning on visiting DH's family in Iowa right after Christmas but I need to know the dates of my baseline ultrasound. It looks like I might be taking my first Follistim shot in Iowa. I start that on Dec 30th. I guess it is fitting. In 2010, I did my first IUI and I took my first Femara pill at a Rodeo in Texas visiting my DH's brother and family. It seems to be a trend..... fertility drugs with DHs family. I can't remember if the Follistim needs to be refrigerated. I still need to get my meds and I am thinking I should order before too long because I am afraid of the Christmas mail rush. I think these drugs have a short shelf life so don't want to order to early.

I can't wait to hear how everyone is progressing. It seems we each are doing something different but hopefully the outcome is the same...... BABY.
