Old timer here, although I haven't been on the boards lately due to my 8 month old IVF miracle #1 taking up most of my time, but as I start thinking about round 2 I have some questions that I thought I would ask and try and get some advice.
For those of you who don't remember my story, DH has MFI (azoospermia). After 2 years of seeing dr's, a miscarriage, and 3 IVF's we were finally blessed with our DD. (IVF #1 cancelled due to non-viable sperm, IVF #2 miscarried at 10 weeks, and IVF #3 DD (yay!!)). It was a long and difficult road, but we thankfully did not give up!!
Because of the MFI, DH has had multiple sperm extractions (TESE's), which although it works, it doesn't produce the most healthiest sperm (which therefore not producing the best embryo's). We use ICSI, but the fertilization report generally isn't all that great - last time we only had 3 eggs fertilize. (2 were transferred and resulted in DD, and the other is frozen). We also have 3 vials of sperm frozen, because DH now has a good amount of scar tissue that doesn't make another TESE probable)
Here is my question... (and I will ask me RE as well, but just thought I'd get some thoughts here)... Should I just try the FET with the one embryo, hope it makes it thru the defrost, and keep my fingers crossed, or should I go thru the stimulation, try and get a few more embryo's just incase the defrost doesn't go in our favor?
Any thoughts/advice? Any positive stories of a 1 embryo FET?
Good Luck to everyone!! Always stay positive and know that miracles DO happen!!
