FET scheduled for Friday! Did it work for you?

Hello! I'm trying to conceive my 2nd baby with our frozen embryos this Friday with an FET. I did IUI three times with no success, but we finally had a successful 1st IVF cycle and I gave birth to my son in June of 2010. We froze the leftover embryos. I'm hoping these frozen embryos work for baby #2.

Have any of you gone through the FET process? Did it work for you? I have heard conflicting stories about it.

I'd love to hear your experiences.

Hi there babymama. I did a single frozen embryo transfer and found out yesterday that it worked. So absolutely it can and does work. I was reassured that frozen embryo transfers have good success rates. I was more concerned about only tranferring one 5 day blastocyst, but I choose to put all my faith in that one blast. Good luck to you. The protocol for a frozen egg transfer is so much more simplified. I felt far less stress. I kind of wonder if the less makes up a little for the fact the eggs have been frozen and thawed. I wish you the same success!

I am torn. My Dr says we should put in two, but he knows our fear of twins. I just want to be able to carry them to term, running after a toddler and working full time! Maybe I will chat with him before the transfer about putting in just one. I admire you for taking the chance on one embryo! Congrats!!!! So happy for you. I love hearing when people get that incredible call from the clinic with a YES. It's the worst thing waiting for it on blood test day! I will let you know what happens.

So...two embryos are in! One was an 8 cell, one was a 7 cell. My lining looked perfect. We only had to thaw 5 to get the two best ones. I am relieved! Not sure if any of you have tried acupuncture with your transfers. I did it for my first fresh IVF cycle and it worked! So we did it again this time. The acupuncturist came to the clinic and we spent an hour beforehand relaxing the uterus. Who knows if it works! But I felt super relaxed during transfer. He also spent about a half hour with me after transfer. Now I am on bedrest for three days and continuing shots and meds. Tough to do with my miracle baby toddler running around. But fortunately my husband is taking over for the weekend. Blood test is coming up August 22. I will let you all know results...good or bad. Trying to be positive but ready for a negative test too. It really is mad science! You just never know....

We are beginning our IVF journey after 6 IUIs with one loss. I have a good friend who had 2 fresh cycles that were BFN. She had surgery for endo and she only had one embryo left in the freezer. She became pregant with that frozen embie and she has a beautiful 8 month old daughter.

Good luck!

Christy, I did IUI three times with no luck. It was so frustrating. I was scared and nervous when we made the jump to IVF, and I didn't have high hopes. BUT, we got pregnant with our son our first cycle! I had a wonderful pregnancy with no problems and he is perfect. Good luck on your journey. Keep me posted! It's a miracle, it truly is! Get excited!
