First IVF cycle EVER....HELP!!!

Scared to death. Any advice appreciated. I don't understand a lot of these terms (DH, RE, TESE ) you all use, but the basics are: I'm 30 and my husband is 37. 2% normal morphology for sperm and low AMH for me. ICSI with IVF only option. Just started "cycle" but won't start estrogen until after I get positive ovulation test. Curious of a couple things:
1. Do people have success with one attempt or should I plan on 3-4?
2. Can I still work full time while on drugs? I.e. Are there tons of side effects?
3. And finally...can u give me one thing you would change from previous cycles...sort of advice to new people.
Thx!!

Hi there! I just saw your post on AMH and am glad to see you're doing estrogen priming! How low is your AMH? IVF/ICSI gets around your husband's problems, but with low ovarian reserve, you will need to be on maxiumum stims - I was on 375 of follistim and 225 of menopur. You can definitely have success with one, but with low ovarian reserve it's tricky. Some people will get a ton of eggs and have alot to choose from. Us, not so much. I really didn't have alot of side effects and worked full time until retrieval. Lurpon (which I'm guessing you won't be on) was the worst - I got bad headaches. Other than that, I just felt very aware of my ovaries as my follicles grew. One thing I would change is to always ask questions - call your dr whenever you want - that's what you're paying him/her for! I asked about upping my doseage, my dr didn'tthink it would do anything, but agreed anyway - and it did the trick!

-Thx for the reply! I'm not sure what estrogen priming is, but I will be taking it after I ovulate for 2 weeks, then into my stim drugs I go. As far as the dosing for stim drugs, I'm assuming they adjust as needed because i'm scheduled for blood work daily.
-can I ask you about you story? How old are you and what was your AMH? How many eggs did you produce and how many worked?

I think the reason I like this board thing, is because this topic is so hard to discuss with close friends because they don't understand...and this is by far the toughest thing I have ever had to go through(and I haven't even started the meds yet!!) thanks to all for the support.

I was so psychotic when I started the process (still am, ha!). I wanted to know and understand everything. Once you find out the month you plan to do your ivf cycle, you can write on one of the monthly group cycles in this chit chat section. That was my sanity during my cycle and still is during my pregnancy! Everything is confusing, and cycles can be so varied. Chi-gal is right; you can read stuff online or advice from other women and ask your dr/RE. I asked if I didn't have to take birth control (BC), and he was fine with it. Even when I asked a billion questions, I was still confused sometimes. It got better when I got my schedule, which I didn't get until I got AF (aunt flow).

About me: Sheri 35, DH 42, happily married 16 years, 3 furbabies TTC#1 since forever, MFI (complications from Type 1 Diabetes) December, February IUIs cancelled. One thing after another. March IVF stopped for uterine polyps (my turn to have something
