The way my doc described ICSI is that it's an insurance policy to ensure that fertilization happens in the greatest number of eggs possible. Why do you think it hurt your eggs? I haven't heard of that before.

DHEA is a steroidal hormone that they sell in the vitamin isle of almost every supermarket. However, it's not like a vitamin, it's important to be tested to make sure you're a candidate for the therapy before you start taking it or it can throw off your hormones in the wrong direction and hurt your chances. Here is a site that has some information, http://www.livestrong.com/article/100961-dhea-female-fertility/. Might be something worth talking to your RE about.

I also have to add that I lived off of fellow IVFers success stories, viraciously! I made amazing friends online via iVillage and the blogging ART circles, who provided me with an unbelievable amount of great info through the whole process and were the best coaches. I found that this support was a major part of our final success.

I took advantage of all the resources and info I got from friends.

We did IVF abroad for two reasons. We are in WI, and there are not any great options for ART around here. Sadly. Only 2 clinics are doing IVF, one of which had totally let us down after our last inject IUI which led to all the ectopic mess. They were very unprofessional. the other clinic, well, just doesn't have a great reference. So after all the failed IUIs we were pretty much left with no good options for new REs locally. we started looking around and my DH had this 'crazy' sounding idea of going abroad for affordable IVF.

We chose Hungary for two reasons. First, I started networking via ART blogs and found great references for this clinic from a fellow IVFer from the Boston area. I did more research and decided to contact them and figure out the details.

Second, the cost made it easily affordable. The IVF with ICSI cost $2600

Not sure how accurate this is as I am not sure of your protocol or other details, but it sounds like your RE could be more aggressive. For someone as young as you a d your DH with everything checking out great, I would think you'd harvest more eggs. Wondering if your RE was more conservative than he should have been. My RE said I would hate him because at the get go he was going to be pretty aggressive (bordering the line of OHSS). Anyhow, I produced a lot (see my siggy

Oops I pressed post too soon (iPhones!). I would talk with RE about new protocols and definitely ask the girls on this site. There is a pool of expert knowledge here. What was your protocol for your first? Also genetic testing may be an option for you if you have mc issues. Best of luck next time! It is true, often the first time is a test run. The alchemy's in the second!

First time I started stim day two or so...300 gonal f am , 150 menoupor pm and added ganirelix mid stim... Four nights.

This time we are doing the estrogen priming to keep Antral follicles at bay...then doing lupron with gonal n menoupor.

I am new to this but thought my doses were not low at all...

Advice ladies?

Sometimes it's not just the amount of the stims, but the combinations. And some ladies do better with a lupron cycle and some with the ganirelix. I know that there were some on here who had done/were planning on estrogen priming, so hopefully they can give you some input on how that worked for them. Hang in there!!

BTW - On the other IVF board, we did have a couple of ladies who got pg between cycles. Sometimes it can happen.
