Hi, I'm Emmy. DH and I have been TTC for 2 years, and found out on New Years Eve '08 that he has azoospermia (0 sperm count). We put everything on hold for a bit while we tried to decide the next steps.
His Dr., a urologist who only does infertility, gives us a 75-80% chance of finding sperm in a surgery to be performed the day before the ER. After over a year of arguing/talking, DH finally agreed to donor sperm back up (using his bro as a known donor) so it looks like we are now on for IVF in June!
At first, I thought the issue was with me, not him, as I only have a 10-11 day LP. My RE expects me to be a poor responder, based on u/s results, even though I am 29 and my FSH is 7.9, so he wants me on the antagonist protocol.
I may get in on a subcutaneous progesterone clinical trial, which would make the meds free and save me from my feared IM injections.
Has anyone beeon on an antagonist protocol? If so, why? Did it work for you?
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to getting to know you better!
