Hello all,

I have been posting on the TTC over 40 for about a year and have decided to come in and post since I will be starting my very first IVF in June (if my insurance approves it--waiting on one test!) I did get PG naturally in December but it was sadly a cervial ectopic. I was really sick and out of work for almost 2 months! I'm healed now (physically but prob not emotionally yet) and am gearing up for IVF. Just tiurned 42 (GULP)

I am supposed to receive all my injectibles this week and I'm excited and totally scared. I am already a nervous nelly, but I'm afraid the meds will give me major side effects and crazy moodiness. Can you tell me what your worst side effects were and how long they lasted??

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you! Thanks and good luck to all of you on this crazy journey!!!

Welcome! The worst side effect for me was the physical side effects (and I was real worried about the emotional). I got/felt so bloated, especially with the stims (injections to make you create more eggs). It still hasn't gone away

About me: Sheri 35, DH 42, happily married 16 years, 3 furbabies TTC#1 since forever, MFI (complications from Type 1 Diabetes) December, February IUIs cancelled. One thing after another. March IVF stopped for uterine polyps (my turn to have something

Hi Dianne,

I am sorry about your recent loss, and I truly hope that you find success in your upcoming iVF cycle.

As far as side effects are concerned, the other ladies have basically covered it. Lupron did give me headaches, not really a horrible headache, but more like an annoying won't-go-away headache. I eventually got used to them, and like Chris said, as the dosage decreased so did the headaches.

Bloating was definitely an issue later on in the stimming process. Major bloating started for me a few days after the transfer.

I did not experience too many emotional side effects, other than the emotional roller coaster expected in IVF (going between feeling totally optimistic and hopelessly pessimistic).

I wish you the best in your cycle!

Kelly :)
