Hi, I just came to the boards and was trying to find any info on embryo donation (recipient) programs. I am 42 and dh and I have been ttc for over 2 years now and were considering adoption when I found out that you can be an embryo recipient and carry it yourself. I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could find out about clinics who don't charge so much for this. I was reading on the web that it costs anywhere from $6,000 - $8,000. We really don't have this all up front and I just feel that I need to do something ASAP with my age and everything. I wish I had found this a long time ago. Any info or if you could let me know where to look would be appreciated. I live in NC and there is nothing around here. People haven't even heard of it around here. Anyway, sorry so long. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Teresa,

I also live in NC (Raleigh area), and know of at least two places locally that have a donor egg program. One place is in Cary, called NC Center for Reproductive Medicine (NCCRM), and the other is Duke Univ. Medical Center Division of Endocrinology and Infertility. I know the Duke program has a short wait, and I think NCCRM is longer. I'm sure Univ. of NC Chapel Hill also has the same progam. Hope this helps and good luck with everything.
