I have never posted here but have been reading it for awhile! I started taking BCP last week and will continue through next Tues and then I start all of my Stims on the 20th. I have been having so many emotions about everything too! I feel so anxious like waiting for Christmas morning for a child and then at the same time I feel so nervous and then at the same time I feel so excited b/c I've been waiting for this for a long time! I think everything you are feeling is normal for us. I have tried not to think to much about it not working just trying to stay positive that this is it! I'm sure that if it doesn't work I will be quite depressed which I'm sure is normal too. I think we just need to stay upbeat and from what I've read just take it 1 day at a time! Good Luck to you!
I have yet to begin my cycle but I would think being excited, hopeful and optimistic can only help your chances. Self fullfilling prophecies and all that.
If you get a BFN you are going to be devastated regardless.
You might as well free yourself and try to enjoy these few weeks with hopeful optimism as you endure all the poking and prodding of IVF!
I'm getting ready to start my first cycle soon and I feel exactly the same way as you. I'm scared to get excited b/c of the possible let down. BUT I really like what Elizabeth said about being devastated either way if it's a BFN, so best to let ourselves get excited and deal with what we get.

Might as well remain positive being negative can't be good on your mental health.
