Welcome Andi! It sounds like your journey has been long and it's so exciting that your IVF will be coming up in just a few months =) My only advice is to spend the next couple months taking care of yourself - eat well, exercise and have fun time with friends. Clomid was very hard on me mentally so this med free time might be very good for you emotionally and your IVF will be here before you know it. When I was going through IVF I told my boss I was having some medical procedures that required blood draws every other day for a two week period but that after that I would be back to my normal schedule. He was a-ok with that. I think when employers don't know there's an end to the tardiness that's when problems happen. I never looked into FMLA because I thought you had to be out of work for two weeks before FMLA kicked in...maybe I'm wrong about that though.

Good luck!!!

Hi Andi! Welcome to the board!

I never filed the FLMA, but I do know some ladies who did to cover their absences. The good thing is that it isn't every day the whole time you are on stims. You go on cd3 for your baseline, then back 3 days later for monitoring, and then every 2/3 days until you get closer to retrieval and the every day appts are only for about 2-4 days. Hopefully you will be able to work your schedule around it.

Looking forward to hearing more from you! Good luck!!!

The doc said the do all appts between 7-9 am but again I have be at work by 6:45 am. I have an infertility cm at work so I am going to touch base with her and see what she says about it. I know my managers would work with me as much as possible its just the day to day short notice stuff that I don't want to be stressing about it come time. Thanks for the replies ladies!

Andi - i am excited you are trying IVF. My biggest takeaway is follow your own instincts (see my post labeled "ivf cancellation thoughts") and that it isn't as bad as i expected. I didn't have noticeable side effects from follistim or ganerelix (sp?). I did get dizzy from the FSH though. My clinic always set ultrasounds for early (7am-8am time frame). Not sure what your clinic would do. The two months will be here before you know it. :)

Welcome, Andi! I recognize your name from TTCAM.

My work suggested I file FMLA recently and I did. I plan to take the week of retrieval off as I see patients and it was very difficult with my first IVF to say "I'll be gone one of these days and we won't know for sure until 2 days before". Good luck with IVF! I know how hard it is with muliple losses to be optimistic, but it works for many women...hopefully we will both be next!
