January Cyclers - Come out and play...

I don't think we have an official January Cyclers Club so I will start a thread. I know a bunch of us were kinda in the December group (winter cyclers) but I thought I still would do one for our January ladies.

My info:
I am Christy and just turned 37 and DH is 42. We have been trying for our first since 2006 and finally went to the RE in 2010. (I know, we should have went sooner but DH wanted things to happen naturally). Since 2010, I had one ectopic on my first IUI and 5 BFN IUIs so I am onto IVF. There were a few delays and I am finally ready to start my first IVF cycle. Thank goodness!!!

My RE does ET 2 days after retrieval. From what I understand (from my self imposed limitation on Google searching & obsessing), it's a pretty controversial topic and can differ quite a bit from RE to RE.

Had another scan and blood draw today (cros- posted from my TTCYFC6+ board):

Here's today's update! We had to go to the RE's other clinic (their main office) an hour away today b/c our clinic isn't open on weekends, so I had a different nurse doing the ultrasound. She noted 12 decent follies this time, I think they were all between 6-10mm. She said it looked like there were several other small ones but didn't know if they'd catch up.

So...I was pretty excited about the 20 but now that it's gone down to 12, it makes me a tad nervous. Hopefully I have a few more catch up between now and ER.

She was still estimating ER to maybe be next Sunday/Monday-ish.

I am to continue my 5 units Lupron/150 units FSH/75 units Menopur and have another scan on Tuesday (here at home, thankfully!). Hopefully we'll be zeroing in on our ER date soon!

Happy New year ladies!! 2012 BETTER be ALL of our year!!

Jamie: Don;t worry about 12 or 20...... BOTH are great numbers and They have ALWAYS retrieved several more from me than they EVER saw of the screen......Typically I'd have 10-11..and they Always retrieved exactly 17....with between 12-15 of them being mature. Old and crusty..but mature...and in our forst IVF....15 Fertilized and 8 were top grade. 3 went in...5 frozen.

Ok..TMI...TMI....But made me a little nervous. On top of the PIO shots, I also have to insert Crinone Gel in my Hoo-Hoo at night. Last night.....when I pulled the applicated out...there was a few "streaks" of brownish blood...and a spec of red blood. FREAKED ME OUT. There is NO blood (brown OR red..when I wipe after peeing.....and none in my Panties....so not sure what to make of it. I also have some cramping....especially when I cough. I'm scared. But trying to just HOPE this is normal and maybe the cramping is early Growing pains (stretching....)..... and I still have almost 2 weeks before Ultrasound!!!

Thanks Lindsay!

I can totally understand the freaking out over the cramping and the blood...I would be freaking out too! I'm betting it's just growing pains you're feeling, and minor spotting from the increase in blood flow going on for the bebeh.

Lindz - I've been on Crinone with every IVF, and my office always warns me that you can have spotting with it.

Thanks Ladies!!! I combed the internet today (Cause let's face it...we ALL do!), and read that the crinone has this effect on MANY! Sometimes it is a salmon colored streaking, some get Brownish streaks. They warn you NOT to insert the applicator all the way...only half..... and so that is what I did tonight..and no weird colored discharge today. As if sticky a needle in my ARSE every morning isn't enough..But I also have to squirt Goop up my hoo-hoo. This is REALLY an attractive phase of my life. I feel so....Sexy. (Sarcasm......................)

Jamie - I would be curious to see what your normal clinic will find when you have your next ultrasound. I bet some others will catch up and you will have a great ER. I wonder if the number of follicles differ by whoever is doing the ultrasound. ??
