January Cyclers - Come out and play...

I don't think we have an official January Cyclers Club so I will start a thread. I know a bunch of us were kinda in the December group (winter cyclers) but I thought I still would do one for our January ladies.

My info:
I am Christy and just turned 37 and DH is 42. We have been trying for our first since 2006 and finally went to the RE in 2010. (I know, we should have went sooner but DH wanted things to happen naturally). Since 2010, I had one ectopic on my first IUI and 5 BFN IUIs so I am onto IVF. There were a few delays and I am finally ready to start my first IVF cycle. Thank goodness!!!

To some these are offensive....and certainly NOT Politically correct!

How many infertility patients does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
Screw in a lightbulb! Hmmm . . . do you think it might help?

Two sperm were swimming through a woman's body.
The first said, "Whew. I'm getting tired. Just how far is it to the uterus?"
"The uterus?" the second laughed. "We're not even past the esophagus yet!"

Why did the RE cross the road?
Because there was an affluent, infertile woman in her 30s on the other side

How does an RE like his eggs?
Over 20mm!

Ok..Ok..... I'm not funny.

Menopur is 50% FSH and 50%LH and helps to promote the development of multiple MATURE eggs. Some RE's use it..others, maybe not. I always mixed my follistim in with Menopur and then eventually..the Ganirilex got into the mix too.....

Christy....I really think you will SEE more follies on Friday...AND...That you will have plenty of Mature ones to choose from after ER!

Are any of you using ICSI??

HA! Those are great!

We're doing ICSI since DH's morphology is only 1%. My RE automatically does ICSI if morph is below a certain percentage. I think even if his morphology was decent, I'd still elect to do ICSI just for the added oomph because we've been TTC for 4 years with nothing but a miscarraige to show for it...I want to do whatever we possibly can to maximize our chances!

Those are great numbers. The fact that they are all around the same size is also good news. Sounds promisng, even if the other ones don't catch up.

Wow Michelle..... Things are really "around the corner" for you!!!! I'm hoping THIS FET is the one that works!!! Will you transfer the remaining 3 embies..or just two? I suppose it depends on what survives the thaw? I really hope THIS works out for you this time! Packing up the "stuff" sounds dreadful...although I did it after our miscarriage in Septemeber/october. And here I am...5 weeks PG. HOPING....I don;t have to REALLY pack everything away again!! I have been remaining cautious...but still can't resist pickingup a cute outfit here or there.... (although, if this baby is a girl...our 18 month old has left behind 12 bins of clothes ready to be re-used!!!)

Fingers crossed!!!

Is this your last attempt?

Had another scan today...more follies, although the range is getting broader. I had 12 on the right, ranging from 8-16mm. I think I had 15? on the left ranging from 8-17mm. I think I had 4 that were 16s and 17s.

My lining was good.

They decreased my Follistim from 150 to 75. So, tonight I did 5 units Lupron/75 FSH/75 Menopur. They want me to go in for another E2 blood draw tomorrow morning (but no scan) and will call me with Friday's dosages. Then I am going in for another blood draw and scan on Saturday. Unfortunately, we'll have to drive an hour away for that appointment again...but hopefully that will be our last appointment before ER.

She is betting ER to be on Monday (yay!), and said it looks like we could have anywhere between 9-15 mature by then, depending on how many of them might still catch up.

Michelle and Pix - good luck!!!

Things are really BEEFING up on here...LOL. Beefy Uterus's..beefy follies!!

Pix...I am glad your results were good...I totally get the "going to appointment with worst case scenario" mentality. I know I got my BFP...but until my ultrasound and seeing the HB...I'm not feeling convinced it is real..... and with our recent M/c...I am cautiously excited.......very cautious!

Let's hope our FET's on THIS board are as successful as some of the fall ones!

Jamie: Sounds like you will find out at Saturdays appt. if you are triggering Saturday night? I TOLD YOU...those follies will appear and diappear.....and you always get more at ET than they ever see on the screen!!! Woot-Woot!! This is looking to be a good month for you ladies!!!!
