July Cyclers??

Hi Ladies -

So I am officially on the calendar for my next cycle!!!! We are going the DE route this IVF cycle as my last IVF only produced 3 eggs and only one fertilized. It resulted in a BFP, but my betas quickly fell. So here we are - our donor has been matched, and we have been given our dates. I'm starting Lupron around June 25th (depending on when AF makes her appearance this month) and then will start hormone replacement while my donor does Lupron and will start her stim meds. We are looking at a week of July 24th retreival and transfer three days later! I'm looking forward to getting the show on the road and am looking forward to the ladies who will be joining me! Who else is with me??? How are you feeling? When will you start??

FX for all of us getting our BFP's soon!!!

Ann:

THANKS for the response..I am So thrilled you are 14 weeks along already!!! I know you will never be totally at ease...but you have really reached a good point! relax a "little" and just enjoy it!

Both of our IVF cycles (My eggs) were the same.....Follistim/Menopur (then the usual Ganirilex tpo keep from ovulating too soon...and Ovidrel to ovulate). In both of my cycles we got PG. First cycle with triplets..lost two of them at different points but got our PERFECT DD out of it. Second IVF...Had same drug protocol. TWO sacs..but only one HB..which was there at the 7 week U/S...gone the 8th week. It took 4 weeks to M/C...but I finally did this past week.

We decided..even though our Dr's have always been thrilled with our response (17 eggs both cycles....BFP's both times)..that Since I am about to turn 40..and after this LAST IVF..I told DH...there is NO way I trust his sperm and my eggs to make this happen. So we found yet ANOTHER loan...to proceed with a Donor cycle. Looking through the "catalog" to find someone was interesting. I mean..NONE of them look like me...but My hubby has Strong genes.....so no matter what the goal is to select someone I BELIEVE might work. I encountered A LOT of 20-22 year olds.....who look great on paper...but ended up selecting 3 choices...all of which HAVE children (so I know they HAVE working eggs)...and are between the ages 25-29. I also was attentive to blood type..as I think Rh - and Rh+ blood don;t always mix. DH and I are both A+...so I slected donors with + Rh factors. Arethey all supermodels...No. Are they all the height weight and eye color I would "envision"...No. But let's face it..if someone dropped a baby at my door and sai here...you take it. I would.....genetics and looking like me "be damned"......

I'm used to shots and injections...so that does not concern me. Because I became a expert at our "cycles"...I KNEW what worked and we always used it. And it DID work. This will all be different...so I worry about losing my confidence in the donor cycle..because the protocol will be so Unknown to me.

It's been a wild ride..these last months..Up's, and downs. I have to stay positive and forward thinking....even though our hearts were broken when we lost our little Beaner.

Oh Lindz - I am so, so sorry about your LO. How far along were you? Do they know what happened? Didn't you start out with twins? My heart is just breaking for you and DH.

What has your protocol been with this last IVF and your first one? I was on Microdose Lupron and Follistim for my IVF that I did with my eggs back in February that resulted in a chemcial pregnancy. This cycle, my donor cycle, I was on BCP for a month and a half and then Lupron, Estrace and PIO, which I think is pretty standard for Donor cycles or FET. I was on Lupron for 10 days at 20U and then 10 days at 5U - I found that I got headaches from the Lupron, but they weren't too horrible. I started Estrace at 1 pill 2x's a day and then went up to 1 pill 4x's a day - let me tell you - that brought on a hormonal wave that I've never experienced. I was pretty weepy one minute and then negative nelly the next - poor DH never knew which wife he was going to get on any given day. I could feel it coming on so I would try and shield him from it as best I could, but if that was the worst of it - I'll take weepy, sad, happy girl to get to where I wanted to be anyday! I was on the Estrace through the 10th week of my pregnancy. With the Progesterone in Oil injections, I was on thse for almost 9 weeks from the transfer date - I was doing 2cc every night - my butt is just now starting to heal! :smileywink: I was on the PIO as well through the 10th week of my pregnancy. I was terrifed when my RE told me to stop my drugs, but he knows what he is doing and I'm almost 14 weeks along. I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop sadly, but I think after you have a loss(es) that feeling will never go away. Until I'm holding this baby in my arms, I won't probably be 100% relaxed, but then a whole new set of worries begins!

If you haven't yet visited the donor boards, I would definate go poke around in there. While this IVF board is great, donor is a difference beast all together and to have ladies cycling with me or at least there to offer their sage advice was a Godsend. I went back and forth between the two boards when I was cycling and it really helped be me through!

Kim:

Are you out here somewhere?

I keep looking for Updates from you..hoping all is going well for you so far.

I have JUST miscarried our little IVF August Bean...and we are moving to a Donor Cycle. I have no idea what the protocol will be yet..and looking for YOUR story/Journey and advice. I have read only about Lupron and Estrace. Neither of which I've taken in our own IVF cycles.

If you would rather...contact me at Jennifer.lindsay@ferguson.com. Need your advice and also an UPDATE!!!!!!

Thanks everyone - your P&PT are so important to me and are working... We have a heartbeat!!!!! Saw that beautiful little flicker the minute it came up on the screen! They didn't have sound (boo) and I'm not sure what the bpm were, but I'm measuring right on track at 7 weeks today. My RE was very happy with what he saw and I have been released to my OB already! I feel like a little birdy that is being pushed out of the nest, but am happy to call my OB and hopefully get him to schedule another u/s in a couple weeks. We've made it to this point before, then sadly lost our first LO at 12 weeks, so hoping that the dr. will have pity on me and monitor me a little more closely at first until I hit my 2T milestone!

Sending lots of love and good things to all of us here...

Love,

Ann

Ann:

Tommorrow is the DAY!!!...You get to see one..or TWO flickers on the screen...those are YOUR babies!!!!! Don't get too worked up and nervous...try to stay calm and ENJOY the pregnancy! I never had any bleeding in my first IVF until we miscarried one of the triplets.....but I do remeber freaking out thinking I was Losing the pregnancy! Bright red, and heavy..that would be concerning.....and few brown dribbles...that's your babies (LOL...Convinced it's TWINS)......digging deeper and holding on for dear life!

Can't wait to see your post after your Ultrasound 2morrow!!!

Ann, I could have written your post a little over a week ago! My symptoms definitely came and went, I spotted a teeny bit, and was convinced I wouldn't see a heart beat. I know there's nothing I can say to calm you down, but know that I'm thinking of you!
