Need info on IVF costs!!

Hi! I am just starting to lurk on this board. I had 2 m/c then it took another year and 3 cycles of Clomid to conceive my ds. We are ttc #2 without much luck. After 10 months of trying we did it only to have an ectopic pg and the partial removal of my left tube. I can tell I O from the left side (no good now) but not my right side so I am starting to research options. I know I need to contact an RE but until then I have some questions I was hoping you girls could help me with.

I am just curious what the average cost for IVF (with all the appointments, drugs, procedures, etc) is as our insurance will not cover any fertility treatments. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Good luck to all of you as well!

I just finished a ivf cycle and it has cost me about 6,000 all out of pocket. My ins does not cover ivf either.

I have tubal diease and ivf was my only option.

I am wishing you lots of luck!

I am paying $10k for IVF with ICSI out of my own pocket. Insurance here in CA cover $2k. I start on June 16th.

Where do you live? It might be mandanted by law that insurance companies need to pay.

Best of luck.

Each round of IVF cost about $8500. This includes meds. You may want to check to see if your prescription plan will cover some of the medications. That will help. Some of them are quite pricy.

I, too, had had an ectopic pregnancy and have only one tube. Having had an ectopic pregnancy once, means we have an even greater chance than other to having another. According to my doctor, IVF was the most sensible way to go.

Good luck.

Dear..from all my research, I have found that it can cost between 12-15000. Yes it is very expensive and most insurances do not cover the procedure and none cover meds. And if you have to use a surro, then it costs more. Hope this helps answer your question.

Hey Aime!

I just went through IVF, with my aunt as a surrogate. Lucky for us we got pregnant after our second try! :) far as insurance goes, be sure to ask the right questions. My insurance said they do not cover IVF either BUT they did cover 2 rounds of meds (I only needed 1), my office visits (with a note from my PCP saying I was seeking treatment for irregularities). I did have to pay out of pocket for the retrieval and implanting in my aunt - costs about $12k. The other thing that we lucked out is her insurance will cover the cost of the delivery! Some insurances have a stipulation saying delivery is covered EXCEPT surrogacy.

Good Luck!
